Welcome to Mountain Haven, a beautiful new build located in scenic Amherst County, VA. The house is just minutes away from Piney River, breathtaking hikes, fly fishing, wineries and breweries, and just a short drive from Wintergreen Resort. There is no shortage of things to do in the area year-round. If you’re looking for a quiet, secluded getaway, simply relax in front of the fireplace and take in the stunning mountain view while the stress melts away. The Space: The cottage is a spacious three bedroom ranch with three full bathrooms and two main suites. The gorgeous modern kitchen is fully appointed with everything you’ll need for your stay. A dining table and island seating provide plenty of space for you, your friends and family to enjoy meals together. A gas fireplace anchors the upstairs living space, surrounded by comfortable furniture and expansive views of the Priest and Little Priest mountain peaks. Each bedroom is outfitted with a queen bed and both main suites feature a reading nook and attached bathroom. Each full bathroom is stocked with toiletries and towels for your convenience. Additionally, the lower floor couch converts to a full-size sleeper. The lower floor provides a massive recreation space to watch movies and play games, while also carving out a workspace for the road warriors (again, with that amazing view) and a cozy wine bar area to sit and enjoy a glass of your favorite local Virginia wine. Other things to note: Mountain Haven Cottage is situated in Amherst County and sits near the border with Nelson County. Each county is home to some of the best breweries and wineries in VA. You will find Blue Mountain Brewery, Outback Brewing Company, Lovingston Winery, Ankida Ridge Winery, Lazy Days Winery, all within 20 mins of the cottage. Further up route 151 into Nelson County, you’ll find dozens more wineries and breweries only 30-40 minutes away, to include Devil’s Backbone, Three Notch’d, and Bold Rock. For the active adventurers, you’ll find a wide range of hikes in the nearby Priest Wilderness, James River State Park, Mount Pleasant, and Crabtree Falls areas. Wintergreen ski resort is only a short drive away and offers year-round activities for the entire family. For golf enthusiasts, you’ll find the Winton Country Club only minutes down the road or Devil’s Knob course located on the Wintergreen property. Local restaurants in Amherst and Arrington include Bonfire, Vito’s, and Briar Patch. Séjour de 2 nuits en mai 2025 ### 10/10 – Excellent #### Lauren A. 4 avr. 2025 Points forts : Propreté #### Exactly as pictured and close to great hiking and beer My partner, two dogs, and I had a great stay Mountain Haven Cottage! It's spacious and exactly as pictured. We ventured to Shenandoah National Park to hike Turk Mountain Trail, Blackrock Summit, and Hawksbill Summit. We also hiked the Virginia Blue Ridge Railway Trail that was closer to the Cottage. We loved the beer so much at Blue Mountain Brewery that we didn't make it to any wineries in the area. Instead, we went to Three Notch'd, and Devil's Backbone, all of which had amazing beer and tons of options. Winding down at the end of the day and enjoying the breath taking view from the back of the Cottage was perfect way to relax and recharge for the next day's adventure. The host was just a text away if we needed anything. I know you'll love your stay here as much as we did! ##### Lauren A. We cannot say enough wonderful thing about this cabin. Spacious, spotlessly clean, quiet setting with spectacular mountain views! While there are many things to see & do nearby, we stayed pretty close to the cabin to thoroughly enjoy our time there. Did venture out to Piney Railway Trail for a beautiful Thanksgiving Day hike, and to Mill Creek Lake for a bit of fishing. Truly a fabulous vacation! ##### Tim W. The accommodations were even nicer than the pictures and we saw many deer in the morning and at night right on the property. Communication was great and the views and house are Even better in person. This place is on acres of land and beautiful views of the forest and mountains. Sunsets and sunrise are 2nd to none.
