We stay at this hotel at least once a year and are always very pleased with the king bed suite and also appreciated it during our latest 3-day stay because it is roomy, has a great bathroom with a deep tub + shower, a very convenient area with desk, sofa, frig, and microwave, and adequate outlets for charging our phones, etc. Also, the people at the desk sometimes were very friendly and helpful but not always. But this time, we were very disappointed that the TV had no cable news (no CNN) except for FOX and very limited stations. The breakfast was inconsistent (a container of gravy instead of oatmeal our first morning) and although we love the coffee-latte machine near the lobby, it stopped working on our last morning. Also, on our last full day although we were out of the room from 9 AM - 3 PM, it was never cleaned but I was able to obtain clean towels.

The Best Western Plus in Ames was really great for our stay! We were in town to see family for a few days and spent the nights here as well as breakfast everyday. The Pros - Price, Breakfast food + coffee machine, Safe location, Clean and well kept lobby and rooms. Cons - the hot tub was wayyyy too hot to use. The beds and pillows could be better. Overall a good place for the value that is really well kept up by staff! I will recommend!
