We had a wonderful stay at Lua de Caldelas. The hosts, Ziv and Keren are amazing people. The restaurant is delicious. We can only recommend this quiet and beautiful place!

Very unique small intimate boutique hotel. Room was exceptional. Owners most accommodating. Breakfast included was buffet style and delicious. Highly recommend. Parking was challenging though which we found typical for Portugal!

This is a beautiful property right in the center of Caldelas and it overlooks the gorgeous hills of the North. The hosts were extremely attentive and friendly. The breakfast included homemade omelets as well as a nice assortment of other homemade dishes which were delicious. We stayed for 3 nights and every morning there was something different to try. There are hot tubs in the garden area which is very relaxing and romantic. The rooms were very clean with split AC and comfortable beds. The only drawback is that it does not have an elevator ( they are working on that) so you have to walk up a hill then up stairs to get to your room. It wasn’t a problem for us but if you have mobility issues keep this in mind. We enjoyed staying at this guest house. It’s not your traditional Portuguese establishment but I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Give it a try!

Absolutely fantastic

Hotel ismanaged by a lovely and inspiring couple. They renovated the House in a fantastic modern Style. Don‘t miss the breakfast it is fantastic! A Highlight was the friday evening Dinner together with the other guests. Also very nice is a Bath in the hottubs.

Our family and friends stayed here during our wedding week in Braga, and we could not have been happier with our experience. From the moment everyone arrived, Ziv and Keren welcomed us with genuine warmth, kindness, and hospitality that made everyone feel like family. Every detail of this bed and breakfast exceeded our expectations. The beautiful grounds, meticulously maintained by Ziv, created a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, while Keren’s incredible homemade breakfasts were the perfect way to start each day. You can truly feel the love and care they pour into every aspect of the property. What impressed us most was their attention to detail and the way they went above and beyond to ensure our guests felt comfortable and at home while being overseas. Their exceptional service and heartfelt hospitality made such an important week in our lives even more memorable. Thank you, Ziv and Keren, for taking such wonderful care of our family and friends. Where do I start, from the moment we booked the owners were very responsive on the hotels.com app and via WhatsApp, as soon as we arrived we were warmly greeted, our room was 10/10, very clean, everything was perfect and I loved the attention of details on the lamp shades. Breakfast was again 10/10, everything taste amazing, and a lot of the food was fresh produce, this is by far the best breakfast and hotel I've stayed at on holiday, the friendliness, cleanliness, they really care about you and your stay. Also they were very helpful in sending recommendations for things to do in the local area. The area itself is lovely and quiet and the view from the bedroom window or garden is amazing! I would defo come back and stay again. Wishing them all the best for the future.

Words honestly can’t describe how incredible this stay was. The property itself is absolutely beautiful — peaceful, relaxing, surrounded by nature, with stunning sunsets, fruit trees, and amazing views everywhere you look. It felt like a hidden paradise. The hot tub, outdoor spaces, and overall atmosphere made it such a special experience. But what truly made this unforgettable was Ziv and Karen. They didn’t treat us like guests — they treated us like family. They were like having a mom and dad away from home. Their kindness, care, and hospitality went far beyond anything we ever expected. My girlfriend forgot important medication back home, and Karen went out of her way to help us get what we needed. She even went to the supermarket herself to buy hair products so she could do my girlfriend’s hair for a wedding we were attending — and it looked absolutely amazing. She also offered to iron my clothes for the wedding. They warmed up the hot tub for us, constantly checked in on us, and even brought us food because they felt we needed to eat something. That level of care is something you rarely experience anywhere. You can truly feel the love and heart they put into this place and into the people who stay here. We left feeling grateful, cared for, and honestly emotional about leaving. Ziv and Karen deserve the absolute best, and we will never forget this experience. If you’re considering staying here, don’t even think twice — book it.

We just started here and were completely blown away. What we expected to be a comfortable base for exploring the region turned into one of the most memorable stays we’ve ever had. The food, first and foremost, deserves serious praise — easily among the best meals we’ve eaten anywhere. Every dish was thoughtful, fresh, and beautifully executed. The chef is incredibly talented, and the level of quality was simply unexpected for a hotel of this size. It felt more like dining at a Michelin-starred retreat than a small hotel. Beyond the food, the design of the hotel itself was stunning. The architecture blends modern elegance with regional character, and the lighting in the hotel is amazing. You can tell Keren is an interior designer. What really set this place apart, though, were the hosts. They were incredibly gracious and generous with their time, offering genuine hospitality and sharing the story of how they built the hotel. As we’re considering a move to Portugal ourselves, their insight into the process — the challenges, the rewards, and the local culture — was incredibly helpful and deeply appreciated. Ziv was always ready with great suggestions and recommendations for the area This is more than just a place to stay. It’s an experience. We left feeling inspired, well-fed, and extremely grateful. We can’t recommend it enough.

Um espaço zen no relaxe e simpatia

A nossa experiência a 2 foi absolutamente inesquecível e a repetir, porque o casal Ziv e a Keren oferecem um disponibilidade e atenção a cada hóspede de modo irrepreensível. Os pequenos almoço e os jantares são momentos de explosão das qualidades gastronómicas da Keren. No exterior,o espaço beneficia igualmente das artes decorativas Kerenianas , uma muito agradável surpresa. A todo a hora, Ziv está presente para atender, cuidar, conversar, um casal que leva a oferta turística a nível profissional e com uma simpatia invulgar e inesquecível.
O espaço exterior cuidados socalcos oferece uma vista deslumbrante.

La casa de Keren y Zev es un lugar de apartarse de todo y relajarse. El hotel y la habitación eran maravillosas, recién reformadas, con una decoración que ayudaba a entrar en estado de calma y disfrute. Atención al detalle en cada rincón, un lugar precioso en un enclave pintoresco y con vistas espectaculares. Nos han tratado y mimado y se agradece mucho. Y la comida del bistrô es de lo mejor! Muy recomendable.

Schönes, sehr sauberes Zimmer mit sehr freundlichen, hilfsbereiten und offenen Hotelbetreibern. Die Unterkunft befindet sich im Grünen und hat einen schönen Garten. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker. Wir empfehlen die Unterkunft gerne weiter.

Une maison d’hôte chaleureuse et design.

Un séjour très agréable, on est accueilli comme à la maison. Zif et Keren sont aux petits soins, et très sympathiques. La chambre est grande, spacieuse, avec un coin salon/bureau séparé. La salle de bain est top! La déco est vraiment épurée et agréable. Que dire de plus: les spas à disposition dans la nature… la cuisine d’inspiration méditerranéenne, les vins locaux… Belle découverte que cet hôtel-pépite non loin de Campo do Geres et de Braga. Je suis conquis.
