Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Alqueidão?
The best area to stay in Alqueidão is the central village itself, particularly around the main square and the church.

This area offers a quiet, traditional Portuguese experience. You'll find a few local shops and cafes, and it's where the community gathers. The streets are narrow and winding, typical of an old village, with many of the houses built from local stone. It's a good base for exploring the surrounding countryside.

Couples looking for a peaceful escape will find this area particularly appealing. It's an ideal spot for relaxing walks through the village or simply enjoying a coffee in the square.
When is the best time to go to Alqueidão?
The best time to visit Alqueidão is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.

These periods offer pleasant weather, with moderate temperatures that are ideal for exploring the region without the intense heat of summer. You'll find the countryside is particularly picturesque in spring as flowers bloom, and in autumn, the changing colours of the foliage are quite lovely. This is also a good time to enjoy outdoor activities like walking or cycling along the Mondego River.

For those looking to avoid larger crowds and enjoy a more relaxed pace, these shoulder seasons are perfect.

Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. If free cancellation is available, you can cancel directly through your Expedia account by logging in, going to "My Trips", and selecting your reservation.
