- This impressive, contemporary holiday home sleeping four guests is perfect for a small family or two couples. Picturesque Craster is one of the many seaside villages in the Northumberland Coast National Landscape – wander around the photogenic harbour, shop for kippers at the village’s famous smokehouse, and drop into the pub for a drink or meal. Vast golden beaches and magnificent historic castles are a feature of this splendid landscape, with the spectacular ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle (1.5 miles) dominating the skyline and accessible via the coastal path located in front of the cottage. The beautiful sands of Embleton Bay (4 miles) are a favourite for surfing, kite flying and walks along the shoreline. Discover another golden beach in the village of Seahouses (10 miles), where you can take a boat to the Farne Islands – a marine refuge for wildlife including puffins and seals. Explore nearby Bamburgh Castle (12 miles) and village eateries and pubs and sample the renowned ‘Bamburgh Banger’ sausages.
The striking interior of this super holiday home blends contemporary style with a charming marine theme and clever use of colour to create a lovely seaside feel. Head upstairs to discover the spacious, light-filled open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This bright room houses two large sofas, a wood burner and bi-fold doors opening onto a neat, glass-fronted balcony with patio seating. This is perfect for morning tea or coffee as you enjoy the wonderful vistas and watch out for wildlife – which could include a pod of visiting dolphins. Keen cooks will enjoy setting to work in the all-white kitchen, with a round dining table and fun, retro chairs. A second set of bi-fold doors gives a view over the rear garden and nearby fields. The ground floor features a well-appointed family bathroom and two beautifully furnished bedrooms: a king-size room with an en-suite shower room, plus a cosy twin bedroom.
Outside, steps from a shared patio lead to the raised garden with outdoor furniture and more wonderful views, perfect for al fresco dining and dark sky stargazing. There is private parking for one car.
