Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Agou?
The best area to stay in Agou is generally around the base of Mount Agou, particularly in the larger villages like Agou-Gadje or Agou-Kébo.

These areas offer the most convenient access to the mountain's trails and local amenities. You'll find the main roads connecting to other towns, as well as a selection of local eateries and markets, often centred near the village's principal church or community centre.

For travellers interested in hiking and exploring the natural beauty of the region, staying close to the mountain's base is ideal. It allows for early starts on treks up Mount Agou and easy access to local guides who can lead you through the surrounding forests and villages.

Couples seeking a peaceful retreat will appreciate the tranquil setting of these villages.
When is the best time to go to Agou?
The best time to visit Agou is during the dry season, which runs from November to March.

During these months, you'll experience pleasant weather with less humidity and minimal rainfall, making it ideal for exploring the region's natural beauty, particularly if you plan to hike Mount Agou, Togo's highest peak. The trails will be dry and easier to navigate, and the views from the summit will be clearer.

This period is also excellent for couples seeking an active holiday. You can enjoy outdoor activities without the interruption of heavy downpours, making day trips to nearby villages or coffee plantations more enjoyable.
Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?
You can cancel your hotel reservation on Expedia, though it depends on the cancellation policy of your booking. Most bookings are refundable if canceled within 24-48 hours of the scheduled arrival. Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy.
