"L'hôtel est bien situé, son accès est très facile depuis la gare de Lao Caí ou depuis la station de bus de Sao Viet. Les chambres sont spacieuses et les prestations annoncées semblent prometteuses. Malheureusement nous sommes venus pendant la période creuse (juillet) et tout était fermé. Nous avons tout de même passé un agréable séjour puis que nous étions les seuls clients de l'hôtel. At checkout, we were asked to pay for our room again! On our insistence, they let us go, as I said’ we paid for our room when we booked! Nice hotel, but the insisting that we have not...

"None of the listed amenities actually exist. No pool. No spa. Horrible location way out on the edge of town. On the positive side, the girl at the front desk was very helpful. She helped me get a train ticket out of Lao Cai. I was going to stay three nights but left after one. Also the bed was nice and comfortable after a few weeks of hard traveling. Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in A Yong?
The best area to stay in A Yong is the central area around the market and main square, which offers the most convenience and access to local life.

This central area is the heart of A Yong, where daily activities unfold. You'll find the main market, a lively hub of local commerce, and the primary square which often hosts community gatherings. The main street, often simply referred to as 'Main Street' by locals, runs through this area and is lined with the majority of the town's guesthouses, restaurants, and small shops. It's a compact and easily walkable district.

For travellers interested in experiencing the local culture and having everything within easy reach, this central area is ideal. You can easily stroll to the market in the morning, find a local eatery for lunch, and observe daily life without needing transport. This is particularly appealing for those who appreciate being at the centre of activity.

Couples looking for a comfortable and convenient base to explore the surrounding landscapes will also find this central area suitable. Many guesthouses here offer comfortable accommodations with good amenities, providing a relaxing retreat after a day of exploring the nearby rice terraces or trekking routes.
When is the best time to go to A Yong?
A Yong is a destination that's best enjoyed during the dry season, which runs from October to April.

During these months, you'll experience cooler temperatures and less rainfall, making it ideal for exploring the terraced rice fields and enjoying outdoor activities. The skies are generally clearer, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

For those who enjoy trekking and photography, the period between September and November is particularly appealing. This is when the rice terraces are at their most vibrant, transforming into a golden spectacle before harvest. You'll find comfortable conditions for hiking and capturing memorable landscapes.

If you prefer slightly warmer weather and don't mind the occasional light shower, February to April can also be a good time to visit.
