We have a continuous problem with the Valk chain. From birth I am Dutch but have now English nationality. I changed my surname slightly in England to make it easier for English people. Whenever there's a reservation made for us the staff are told how we spell our surname. Valk is one of the few who simply ignore this, choosing the Dutch spelling instead. We have now decided that in future we will choose other hotels, even if it means a lot of extra miles driving.

Nice hotel, near to the city center

Nice hotel, a little old fashioned but has everything you need. 10 min walk from shops, bars & restaurants. 20 min by car from Amsterdam. Friendly staff.

No heat

The hotel was very cute, nice dining room, good location near buses to city center. Our problem with this hotel was there was no heat. We had to ask for extra blankets. The staff were very friendly and nice to us.

Prima locatie op loop afstand van winkels.

We waren uitgenodigd voor een familie feest, de keuze van het hotel was prima.

Convenient for visiting Amsterdam and Volendam.

This is my 3rd stay in this hotel. I like it as it is in walking distance of local shops, bus station and train station. Only 30 minutes to Amsterdam and near Volendam. The staff are very friendly and it has a great festive atmosphere. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone especially if you have a car as there is enough parking spaces.

Huono valinta

Koko varausjärjestelmä oli fiasko. Meitä ei otettu hotelliin varauksesta huolimatta eikä kyseessä ollut mitään habituksesta johtuvaa. Hotelli oli vain ylimyyty ja jouduimme menemään toiseen hotelliin. Näin kohdallemme aiheutui ylimääräisiä kustannuksia, taxit seuraavaan paikkaan, joka oli joku van der valk Hilversumissa. Sieltä vain taxi oli ainoa kulkuväline asemalle ja kauppaan ja lentokentälle. Emme missään tapauksessa voi suositella kenellekään tätä paikkaa. Järjestelmien pitäisi olla ensin kunnossa ennen kuin toimii hotellina. Jos haluatte korvata nämä ylimääräiset kustannukset, ne olivat meille n. 300€, eikä tässä ole hukkaan kulunut aika. Ja vielä; meille kerrottiin, että te, Ebookers, ette ole edes heidän agenttejakaan. Näin emme tiedä, keneltä näitä hotelleja sitten varataan. Yst terveisin, Maire ja Reijo Tuokkola, Finland.

Good for sleeping and daytrips to Amsterdam

we have been there for two nights. The room was okay. not the newest but for sleeping good. The bathroom was okay and everything was useful. The toiletwater daes not fill up quick, it tooks 5-7 minutes. Everybody of the staff was very helpful and friendly. We had no breakfast. Totaly it was good for a few nights, but not for a longer time.

Ruhiges Hotel 5 Gehminuten vom Zentrum

Es ist ruhig, sauber und komfortabel. Man geht 5 Minuten ins Zentrum mit vielen kleinen und schönen Geschäften. Ebenfalls um die Ecke ist die Bushaltestelle für den Bus 301 nach Amsterdam Hauptbahnhof/Zentrum. Der Bus fährt ca. 30 Minuten und die Tageskarte kostet 10 Euro. Einfacher kommt man nicht nach Amsterdam oder Edam bzw. den anderen angegliederten Orten im Busverbund. Hotel: alles sehr ordentlich und das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet.

Erg gehorig, hoort de mensen in de kamer ernaast praten; 'smorgens om 5 uur staat er een vrachtwagen onder het raam van de kamer (leverancier?) en laat rustig de motor lopen en een uur daarna nog een. Dan werd er aan de oprit gewerkt (lawaai) vanaf ongev. 7 uur.

Bristande bekvaemlighet.

Mestadels trevlig personal. Men, sista morgonen hade vi inte stroem till TV, Haartork, Vattenkokare eller lampor. Vi rapporterade det till Receptionen som sa att hon inte kunde goera naagot eftersom det inte fans naagon teknisk kunnig personal paa plats (detta var klockan 9 paa en Maandag morgon. Luftkonditioneringen var inte I function - foermodligen foer att hotellet ville spara pengar. Inget kylskaap paa rummet.

OK, maar niet top

Op zich een prima kamer waar alles in zit. Afwerkingsniveau is niet zo hoog, badkamer zeer basic, kan wel wat sfeer gebruiken. Qua prijs vond ik het op het aan de hoge kant voor wat ke krijgt.

1 nacht goed te doen maar wel aan opknapbeurt van deze kamers toe. Wij waren er voor familie bezoek . Was fijn om dicht in de buurt te zijn.

Had eigenlijk allang vernieuwd moeten worden

Het enige voordeel van dit hotel is dat het in het centrum van Purmerend ligt. Als je daar moet zijn. Boekte een nacht om naar een feest te gaan en de volgende dag weer fris op te staan en te vertrekken. De ligging is prima, maar de bewegwijzering is er niet. Zelfs met navigatiesysteem, is het zoeken hoe je bij dit hotel komt. Dit terwijl je het ziet liggen. Boeken van te voren via Expedia helemaal goed, herkenning bij aankomst ook. Had kamer 30 dat uitkijkt op een dakplateau en een dienstingang. Toilet, wasbak en douchecabine op 2 m2 samengepropt. Kamer sterk verouderd, maar daarmee geheel in lijn met het hele hotel. Bedden waren wel goed. Avondeten was niet OK. Bijna alles komt uit de magnetron en is enorm heet. Bestelde een tournedos medium, die van buiten was aangebraden maar binnenin ronduit rauw was en doorregen met draden. De extra friet was niet nodig als de bediening had gezegd dat e aardappel bij zat. Portie friet was voor een heel gezin. Had haast, dus snel weer weg. Toch goed geslapen, maar bij opstaan was er geen warm water. Niet in de wasbak en niet in de douche. Koud gedoucht en ingepakt. Naar het ontbijt dat qua assortiment goed was maar uitgedroogde kaas en geen bediening was jammer. Ook de rochelende bejaarden waren misschien een slechte toevalstreffer. Was prima voor een nachtje uit nood, maar Van der Valk heeft zulke mooie hotels: slopen dit pand en een nieuwe neerzetten!

Zentral gelegen zwischen Amsterdam und Volendam

Das Hotel bietet sich für einen Kurzurlaub zum Erkunden von Amsterdam, Volendam, Edam und Umgebung an. Das Frühstück war für den Preis nicht sehr vielseitig, wir fanden den Preis um ca. 40 % überteuert. Die Ausstattung der Zimmer ist schon etwas älter, aber für ca. 3 Nächte ok. Abluft im Bad fehlte.

Hotel in verkehrsgünstiger, ruhiger Lage

Wir waren privat dort, wollten Amsterdam und den Norden der Niederlande erkunden. Der Empfang war herzlch und erfolgte auf Deutsch. Das gesamte Personal wer zuvorkommend. Lediglich die Breite der Parkplätze vorm Hotel ist gewöhnungsbedürftig. Das Zimmer war sauber, das Doppelbett bequem. Gemessen am Preis hatte ich nicht mit einem solch großen Zimmer gerechnet. Schlafen kann man auch bei offenem Fenster ruhig. Das Frühstücksbuffet bot gute Auswahl. Ntürlich bieten andere Hotels vielleicht mehr, aber dann auch zum deutlich höheren Preis. Wir können das Hotel aus unserer Sicht nur empfehlen.
