The station was hand-built by a local businessman as a contemporary jab at the Teapot Dome Scandal, in which Secretary of the Interior Albert Fall illegally leased oilfields in Teapot Dome, WY and Elk Hills, CA to private companies. Fall was found guilty of bribery, fined $100,000 and sent to prison. Staff was very nice. Breakfast was just ok, juices were very good tasty. Cheese omelet not so great but veggie omelet was pretty good. I am partial to a waffle maker when staying at a hotel but all they had was a pancake maker which I personally have never seen so I didn't try it. Would have been nice to have scrambled eggs and hashbrowns.
