We were warmly greeted at check-in and offered a complimentary room upgrade. Alice and Rita spoke excellent English and were helpful throughout our stay. Our room had a very nice view of the city and was elegant, spacious and comfortable. Rooms were very well sound-proofed. The hotel manager, a very pleasant Frenchman, greeted us at breakfast (which was excellent!) and came to say good-bye as we were checking out. I can't imagine a more professional and helpful staff.

Breakfast wasn't completely free for the child over 14, people would need to read clearly all the T&C. the receiption hall was a bit noisy everyday as it was let out for activities. Otherwise it was good, clean and confortable.

Best hotel experience I’ve ever had
Had the best hotel experience of my life at Sofitel Zhengzhou. After years of traveling and countless hotel stays this stands out as being above and beyond. Wonderful facilities, amazing rooms and the best service that I’ve ever had, anywhere. Would love to return again.

Highly impressed by the rooms and the service
My family stayed in 3 different room categories, and even the standard room was very spacious, modern, and clean. The suite is much much bigger. Shortly after settling into the room, a manager came by to check if we were satisfied with the cleanliness which showed their attention to the guests' experience. Mr.David Zheng, a concierge manager who speaks very well English, was very helpful in assisting us during the stay. The hotel is a short taxi ride away to the shopping district. To my surprise, the David Plaza shopping mall is way up there with the very best in the country.

It’s most evident that every employee of this hotel tries her/his best to help the guests. In particular, a front dest girl Harriet assisted me from checkin through checkout. Sofitel Zhengzhou
Sofitel made my Zhengzhou visit remarkable, I had a two day short stay to visit Kaifeng and Luoyang and decided to stay in Zhengshou. Sofitel has the convenience of the location and the friendly staff, it made my stay very pleasant. Peter was great in arranging for my taxi to the airport.

Five-Star Service
For context, I have worked in more than 50 countries and travelled to more than 80. I’ve spent many nights as a business traveler and as a tourist in hotels around the world. I must say that the service at the Sofitel Zhengzhou was outstanding. I have to compliment those responsible for training the staff as there was a strong service mentality. Something not always seen in China even among internationally-branded hotels. The hotel itself is a first class facility. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I would highly recommend the hotel.

Well kept hotel with all modern facilities
Fast check in with most courteous manner and room was upgraded to a suite. Big luxurious rooms with office feature. Variety of tea, coffee and entertainment options. Room service was quick and the staff understood simplified English.

A clean and comfortable hotel.
All was good except the hotel's concierge staff who were quite dishonest. The first one changed our 1-day tour booking to what he said is a "better" one but where we ended paying extra money on-site, experienced a blown-up tire and were dropped off on the side of the road instead of in front of the hotel's lobby. The second one ordered a limousine to the airport vs our request for a metered-run ordinary taxi. We had to take the limousine as to not be late for our departure by train. Due to the rush, I had not checked the invoice for a breakfast that had not been stamped "paid" by the cashier (as per usual practice) after paying it by cash.

Bonjour Dear Guest Firstly and mostly, thank you for providing the feedback and commentary that allows us to review our business practices and improve them for future guests. Upfront, I was very surprised and concerned to read your comments about or Concierge Team. They are a cornerstone of our service delivery program, and are regularly held out by other guests for their service standard. I have followed this up personally and have interviewed the ambassadors involved. My opinion is that regarding the recommendation to use another car service was not commission driven, but based on a good relationship with the supplier that should have guaranteed a better service. The 2 problems you raised were not forseen by our Concierge Team, or the person they were dealing with in the third party, who by the process used another person to provide the service (ie, you contract a company and they have a number of outsourced contractors who provide the actual service, a familiar and common business practice). There has been extensive review by our contact on the standard of car care and the fact you were dropped off at the main road and we now have assurances that the service will be much better in the future. Your feedback about the second car was based on the need to prioritise speed over detail, You noted the need to catch a train, and unfortunately in Zhengzhou metered taxis are very difficult to flag down and are not guaranteed to come to the hotel if ordered because of the ability of the drivers in the city to be flagged down by other users. The priority was to get you to the train station. I can attest our ambassadors had no commission tied to their approach in this instance and had no vested interest other than to provide the best service to you. Regarding your comment about stamping paid on the invoice. I concur it is a practice employed at many hotels in China. However, at our hotel, we do not stamp invoices paid. We have numerous mitigating controls including extensive CCTV coverage, complying with International banking PCI-DSS credit card standards and having onsite a secondary China based “fapio” invoice system that regulates official payments captured under the governments VAT program. As such we don’t actually stamp invoices paid. Again, highlighting the issue allows us to understand the needs and expectations of our guests. To summarize, than kyou again for taking the time to let me know of the issues you had. Great Service
This is the nicest hotel we have stayed at in Zhengzhou. Excellent staff worth good English, nice breakfast and large rooms. There are renovations being made to the lobby, but that had no impact on our stay.

Decent hotel, good choice for Zhengzhou.
I was in a superior room which was very well equipped, very nicely furnished and very comfortable indeed. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful, though the range of services and goods available was more modest than might be normally be expected at a Sofitel (e.g. relatively limited choice of breakfast foods on morning) and one or two odd occurrences (e.g. phoned late at night by front desk to help with a problem that related to another room). Overall a decent hotel, outstanding in some areas, less so in others. I'd likely stay here again next time am in Zhengzhou.

I also recognize your kind comments about the overall service of our team The breakfast experience remains a key focus for us and whilst we are at present limited by our renovation program on what we can do, this should not impact those who choose to stay with us and rightfully expect the Sofitel standard product. We are working as a team to find better ways to improve our breakfast offering and the quality of that offering including table service pastries, table talkers that encourage guests to ask for freshly cooked choices like pancakes and eggs, and table poured juice, coffee and tea I must also apologise for the disturbance to your room for the unrelated guest problem. A satisfied overnight staying
After staying in Louyang for few days, Sofitel was a definitely an upgrade. We loved the room and its cleanliness. No-smoking in the room was a great welcome. The way to the Gym/swimming pool was interesting and cold... Much less lighting then I would like. I supposed it was done for energy saving. overall it was an really good one night stay for us. Definitely recommended.

Room very nice, but facilities under renovation
The hotel was under renovation. Its pool was old and certain not consistent w/ 5-star standard. There was only 1 restaurant, where I picked out at least 5 bones from my fish fillet, so I wouldn't recommend that one. On the other hand, room was quite comfortable and well-equipped. Everything in room was clean and modern. When I checked out, the manager apologized for the fish bone incident and offered a box of chocolate as a small gift.

Nice but does not have close amenities.
The hotel staffs of all levels are courteous and polite. Stay is comfortable when you see smiling faces whenever I am in and out of the hotel. Does not really enjoyed becasue of the on going renovation inside the hotel and the surrounding. Diffcult to find local delicacies as the nearest is at least a 10 minutes walk. I generally rate it as 7 where 10 is excellent.

Great experience, very clean, firm Chinese beds but still quite comfortable. Lobby is really nice, the breakfast buffet has a good mix of western and eastern foods.

Good, not great
Service was good. The room looked worn, they were refurbishing while we were there, so that should be solved soon. Breakfast is not great - the food is ok but the layout is bad. The food is not grouped by cuisine, it's just randomly scattered around.
