The best area to stay in Želetice is directly within the village centre, as it offers the most convenient access to local amenities and the surrounding vineyards.

Želetice itself is a small, quiet village in the South Moravian Region, primarily known for its viticulture. The village centre is compact, with the main road, Road 419, running through it. You'll find the local church, a few guesthouses, and a handful of small shops and restaurants clustered around this central area. It's a peaceful setting, ideal for those looking to relax and enjoy the countryside.

Couples seeking a tranquil escape will find the village centre particularly appealing. Many guesthouses are family-run and offer wine-tasting experiences directly on-site or at nearby cellars. The opportunity to stroll through the vineyards, enjoy local wines, and dine at traditional Czech eateries provides a relaxed and authentic experience.

Families looking for a calm rural break will also appreciate staying in the village centre. The lack of heavy traffic and the open spaces make it suitable for children to explore the immediate surroundings.

The best time to go to Želetice is during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant for outdoor activities and exploring the South Moravian countryside.

During these months, you'll find comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C, making it ideal for cycling through the vineyards or visiting local historical sites. The grapevines are either blooming in spring or laden with fruit in autumn, offering picturesque scenery. This period avoids the hotter peak summer months and the colder, sometimes snowy, winter.

For those interested in wine tourism, early autumn is particularly good as it coincides with the grape harvest season. Many local winemakers in the Želetice area will be active, and you might find opportunities for vineyard tours and wine tastings, which are a cornerstone of the region's appeal. The South Moravian Region is known for its excellent white wines, and this is when they are at their freshest.

Travellers looking for a quieter experience might prefer late spring before the main summer holiday crowds arrive.
