Very well located with friendly staff. However, wooden cabins, lack mosquito nuts and basic toiletries for shower and other hygiene..

Friendly clean lodge a short walk from the beach, small clean pool, good Wifi at reception and restaurant (but not in rooms or at pool). Restaurant serves good but rather expensive food.

Amazing place including the monkeys staff and owners so accommodating nothing g a problem for them would recommend a frw nights there if travelling around Zanzibar

Right from before arrival, managers confirmed our room as well as shuttle pick up. Room was ready for us to sleep in late at night. Staff is very welcoming and friendly. Guesthouse is lovely with comfortable beds, fans, great meals, water shoes available, lounge cushions, walk to beach, advice and booking of tours, Pool is a cool alternative to the ocean. Beach is lovely. Price is very reasonable. It is a lovely, intimate, quiet, friendly place.

Perfect mix of free spirit bungalow style and comfort convenience. The host team is very friendly, welcoming and can make all local arrangements for guest's adventure travel in the area. Decorations in common areas and inside bungalows are thoughtfully funky and unique which reminds you at every turn that you are in a very special corner of the world ... Zanzibar !

This has to be the best guest house I’ve ever stayed at! Before we arrived, Paul arranged transport from the airport, even though we arrived pretty late. From the moment we got there, we felt as if we were home. Paul really knows how to make you feel welcome, so much so, we didn’t even leave the guest house the entire second day we were there and even ended staying an extra night! They even have their own kitchen & the food was delicious!! Being in the customer service field, I really appreciate that he went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. I travel the world looking for unique places to stay and the bungalow did not disappoint. The property has monkeys in the trees, geckos all over, and even bush babies come out at night! I cannot say enough good things about Bellevue! Thank you Paul & staff for making our stay in Zanzibar a time we will never forget!

Cute, simple bungalows a short walk from a stunning beach! Dutch couple owners exceptionally helpful and friendly - arranged our taxis and last minute dinner at The Rock in a couple minutes. Hot showers, nice restaurant, comfortable lounging area and pool. A perfect place for real relaxation for a few days!

Small, Friendly, Relaxing
An attractive and friendly small guesthouse. Attentive staff and management, good food. A good place to decompress, read and relax. Beach access is indirect but reasonably good; however, the nearby beach is quite dirty (including broken glass, etc.), and we walked the beach far less than we had intended.

Dear Stephen, thanks for being our guest at Bellevue. The cleanliness of the beaches near Bellevue are a concern and we do our best to improve this. Our beach is clean, but all beaches should be just as clean!

Perfect hideaway
The management and staff are brilliant. The food is excellent. The room was clean and comfortable. Paje and Bwejuu beach is down the steps from the hotel. We have just returned from one of the best 14 night holidays of our lives. Thank you Bellevue

Perfect in every way
A very happy discovery! A beautiful setting full of charm. Quiet, small and very special. Wonderful ambience created by Debby and Paul. For a little piece of paradise wirh very personal service and a very warm...and continuing welcome, the guest house has everything you could wish for. The food is amazing too!

Lovely relaxing place
We stayed a week here from 10th September so not the busy season, had the beach to ourselves. Lovely questhouse in quiet location. Yes, it's not directly on the beach but it's only a very short walk to a lovely beach and beach beds and umbrellas so no great inconvenience and there is a good view of the sea from the infinity pool. And you can still hear the crashing of the waves on the reef. The rooms may be rustic but are spacious enough and have sufficient space for clothes and has hangers( which is unusual) and are kept very clean. And a good shower with plenty of hot water. A great relaxed atmosphere and all staff were very friendly and helpful. Good food and well priced. Would recommend to friends and family.

A little bit of paradise :-)
I usually don't leave reviews but this one totally deserves one. We stayed for a week and it was a little spot from paradise... The bungalows are simple, cute and comfortable, all areas of the guesthouse were always immaculately clean, the breakfast included in the price was fantastic and all other food and drinks served in the guesthouse as well and on top of that at a very reasonable price. The managers Lena and Michael did a fantastic job, we were warmly welcomed and they helped us with any kind of inquiry we had! We saw other places like hotels and guesthouses as well during our one week stay when we went for drinks but none compares to this one. Highly recommend it!

It's an amazing guesthouse with the most amazing management. They are the best thing about the place and the hotel is lovely too. The food is so good we ate there every night! Beautiful rooms and location. So beautiful!

Our Island getaway
We had a great getaway. The place was peaceful, safe and the staff was super friendly. The breakfast was just ok, not a lot of variety but the supper from our third night was excitingly fresh and delicious. Not cheap thou and very small portions. The manager was very friendly always sitting with us for a chat a two. We really had an awesome time there.

Wonderful little hideaway
We stayed at Bellevue for 2 nights and 3 days, and it was the perfect hideaway for relaxation and enjoying Zanzibar's East Coast. The staff were fantastic and accommodated us with an early check in as well as an early breakfast the day we checked out. Everyone was friendly and we very much felt at home. The room was clean, and we had a lovely hammock and chair swing right up outside our door, in the shade. It's a very short walk down to the beach, and we rented bikes to both go North and South to Paje. It was a very quiet time for travellers, which allowed for a more peaceful experience. The lounge/restaurant is very beautiful, especially in the evening for dinner, lit by candles and with slow burning citronella the Mosquitos are kept away. We really enjoyed our stay here, and it is great value for your money.

The perfect holiday!
Bellevue was wonderful. I already wrote another review named: *An honest review* and I have to say I could not fault this guest house. It was beautiful, charming, clean, the owner and manager's were wonderful making every interaction pleasant with their guests as the main focus all the time. The food - YUM!!!!! The location - quiet, peaceful and close enough to everything. The beach - deserted and so very beautiful. The Jungle Bungalow - cutest room ever! Tarzan and Jane style! The standard bungalow - spacious, comfortable with a good view. The staff - most were adorable! Great service and interactions - thank you! Managers and Owner - THANK YOU FOR THE PERFECT HOLIDAY! The tour's - Spice Tour was an interesting experience, nice lunch, Stone Town was cool a bit long but loved it and Safari Blue was such a highlight, it was amazing! We saw dolphins, ate great food, and the guides on all tours were great. Even the taxi drivers were courteous and friendly! Overall a perfect holiday! Thanks Bellevue! And my wonderful hubby :)

An honest review - An Exceptional Stay!
Everything about Bellevue lived up to my expectations and more. The rustic charm, the culturally decorated rooms were stunning and clean, the jungle bungalow was so much fun - the cutest room ever, the standard bungalow was sweet and spacious to, the food was glorious and pricey but worth it, great fruity cocktails, the owner and managers went out of their way to give us more! They treated all their guest's like gold... We were spoiled! The staff were such a treat as well. I cannot fault this guest house. Honestly. Even the way they handled 'little' hiccups with one couple who had an incident with a backpack etc. was exceptional! The beach was so deserted, divine and private if that's what you are looking for. We loved every minute. We definitely went at the right time though. The weather was fabulous! The tours that were arranged for us were awesome! Blue Safari was such a highlight! This is a special place... A week in paradise! Thank you to everyone at Bellevue who made our 7 day holiday a most memorable experience! Blessings Jonathan & Geraldine

Not "on" the beach!
Whilst the venue is kept in good condition, the way to the beach - about 80m along a brickwall is poor. As the venue is not on the beach and no guard around, there were 3 robbings within 4 days of our stay! We booked because it said "directly on the beach" which it was not. The food was very good, the owner attentive and apologetic about the pick pocketing - however was not around much which one could feel immediately.

Great service, very relaxing
We had a great stay here. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. It was very quiet as it was during the low season, so we basically had the place to ourselves. We loved how quiet it was, it was set in gorgeous gardens, so it was very relaxing. It is a fair way from Stonetown, which costs about $50 one way by taxi. There are a number of activities that they can help organise for you, they helped us hire bikes to ride on the beach with. We ate in their restaurant every night, the menu changed daily so was very fresh.

Relax too the Max!
Manager Jan, and his crew where fantastic ! The low season prices on Bellevue where low, but the cleanness in the bungalow and the atmosphere made the stay a 5 star price experience! seafood in zanzibar is generally very god, and bellevues kitchen differently provide an even better memorie of the local "cousin art". LOW/HIGH tide is not a problem problem! 6 hours between each high tide! neighbor "hotels" also contributes to a relaxing and chill mood on the beach! Enjoy! Best regards Tina and Marius

Tolle Lage mit guter Aussicht und Urwaldfeeling
Das Guesthouse liegt nahe am Meer (eine Häuserreihe ist davor) mitten im Urwald. Da die Landschaft leicht ansteigend ist hat man trotzdem eine gute Aussicht auf den Ozean. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, Die Anlage in einem sehr gutem Zustand. Das Badezimmer könnte noch etwas verbessert werden, aber es war auf jeden Fall sauber. Wenn man Glück hat so sieht man eine Affenfamilie durch das Hotelgelände ziehen. Die Affen sind allerdings vollkommen harmlos und eine willkommene Abwechslung. Das Pool ist eher klein, der Platz allerdings mit einer tollen Aussicht. und es gibt den BESTEN KAFFEE in ganz Sansibar!!!!!

Great stay in the jungle room
We really loved Bellevue guesthouse; the pool is sublime/ lot of charm, food is excellent, the room charming, staff is very helpful and dedicated to customers Bweeju is more quiet than Paje, with still all the local attractions available. We enjoyed walking to Paje/ or running there (4km) to take Kite surf lessons and come back to the quiet of Bellevue in the evening
