This home is perfect for a family or group getaway. Located in a small, private, gated community of custom built vacation villas, this house has four en suite bedrooms, large kitchen, laundry, large comfy sitting room, and ample dining room. Two housekeeper/cooks are also available for hire to make the stay completely care-free. The house includes its own pool and jacuzzi, while the small gated community also offers it own larger pool for use by residents. The kids have their own en suite bungalow with loft. The other bedrooms are equally private and secluded. The house includes balconies, verandas, patios, lush tropical landscaping. Breathtaking views all around; secluded, lightly occupied beaches for swimming/surfing. The perfect place to escape crowds and experience tropical paradise. Do not hesitate to reserve and visit!

Amazing stay in a spectacular location
La Villa Bella is a true gem. The property itself is very special, clearly designed and maintained with a great deal of care. There are so many beautiful little touches. The photos can't do it justice. Everything was very clean and in good working order. The small gated community in which the home is located is also beautiful, with winding paths through tropical gardens, a great shared pool (in addition to the private pool and hot tub at La Villa Bella), and spectacular views up and down the coast. The location is gorgeous. It's a relatively undeveloped part of Mexico from a foreign tourist perspective. Playa Platanitos (about a 10 minute walk) is popular with local weekenders and is a fun spot to soak up Mexican beach culture. Playa Las Tortugas to the south is immense, sparsely used, and one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. You have to swim across the estuary to get to it, but it was easily manageable even for our 3yo (with a life jacket). There is a turtle sanctuary there, and we were able to see them releasing baby turtles at sunset (for a fee). The only negative was the bugs, which were mostly no-see-ums. They weren't as annoying as mosquitoes but we did get lots of bites. The location is relatively remote, so either come with all the food you'll need or get the meal plan. We opted for the latter. Chelo and Eva did the cooking and were lovely to interact with. The food was a highlight. They also cleaned the home daily, which was a great added bonus.

Great vacation!

Paradise Found!
Wow! We were blown away by this beautiful place. The food was incredible, the owner was easy to communicate with and the home was spacious and more than we could have hoped for. The pictures don’t do it justice. The only thing I would say is I was surprised in getting there. It felt like we came to a dead end in a very small village and freaked out for a second. One of the residents told us to continue up a rocky dirt road for a while which didn’t feel right and we were all a little nervous. But we ended up at the top of the hill and the gate was there & paradise was found. Just a heads up though for any others that might be surprised or concerned when driving there. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Perfect Pacific vacation stay
La Villa Bella is an exceptional property and Jossie is a marvelous host who promptly responded to my queries. Yes, the gated community and area surrounding La Punta El Custidio is safe. It is also remarkably beautiful..the landscaping, the plantings, the meticulous care of the grounds...like living in a botanical garden. We were 3 generations, and the lovely villa provided plenty of space, indoors and outdoors. There are four bedroom suites, as well as a 1/2 bath off the living area. The villa is extremely well stocked with supplies, including bottled water. Los Plantanitos is rural, this is a place to rest and relax, or perhaps swim/wade (depending on the tide) to the pristine Playa Las Tortugas. There are beach restaurants serving fresh grilled fish, but no real grocery store. We were so glad to have Chelo and her assistant Ava greet us in the morning by preparing fresh-squeezed orange juice and a hot breakfast. They then prepared lunch and dinner for us to heat up . Fresh fruits, fresh fish, fresh tortillas! This is an ~ 2 hour drive from PVR airport. Pay attention to the speed limit!! it seems low compared to what we are used to in the US. Also, familiarize yourself with left turns, completely different in Mexico!! A great stay. Gracias!

We took 3 sixteen yo's. They each had their own room and bathroom. The gated property is very safe for them. We all surfed or boogie boarded morning and afternoon. Kids haven't had a lot of practice previously and the waves were perfect for them. Such a treat to have Chelo do all our cooking and cleaning. I think it is important to do the meal plan, as nothing suitable close by. Friend families were staying in other villas in the same compound while we were there, so it worked out beautifully. The communal pool was lovely and quiet, and plenty of shade where needed, and lots of great views from there of the surfers below. The communication with Jossie, the owner, was always excellent, and there were many messages between us that were answered promptly. Jossie went over and above to help us out and organized a comfortable shuttle for us in both directions. Chelo was so sweet and when one of the boys asked her if she knew about Chicken Tinga, she went ahead and surprised us with it the next day. Food is fabulous and lots of variety and something for everyone. The Villa is lovely and all the bedrooms so comfortable and air conditioned and there are ceiling fans everywhere. We all Had good books and played cards on the evenings. Thankyou for a fabulous stay!

Amazing Heavenly Gem!
Me and my family stayed at the villa for 2 nights only, the second we arrived we instantly regretted not booking the whole week in this amazing place! The whole property is like a fantasy dream, a piece of paradise! The most amazing sunsets by the community pool.Host and all the personnel are really friendly. We will definitely come back to this piece of paradise.

What a fantastic week. The villa is even better than the pictures, and the entire property is absolutely stunning. We enjoyed the meals prepared for us and the meals we had down in Platanitos equally. Come stay here if you want to get away from the world for a bit and visit a place that borders on magic.

All you need to know is that it’s like a 5-star stay without the 5-star nonsense. Jossie’s villa had the most stunning grounds compared to all the stunning grounds, so if you can imagine paradise, then this is it. The food was fantastic, the people were fantastic, and the relaxing was fantastic, and the jacuzzi… I’ll stop here. It’s tops.

The Most Relaxing Villa in Platanitos
This was to be a relaxing vacation for us. Our daughter found this gem of a Vrbo called La Villa Bella…su Hacienda. Boy what a property. It is decorated beautifully. No matter where you look, is a visual delight. We absolutely loved everything about the home. To have our own private pool and jacuzzi was wonderful. All bedrooms were fantastic and had their own split systems for air and heat. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would need. The girls wanted to cook, so that is what we did. The owner/manager Jossie always responded very quickly to any question or request we had. The staff of Chelo our housekeeper, Nilo and Vicente who took care of the pool and maintenance were all so friendly and provided excellent customer service. It made our 7 day stay so special. La Villa Bella…su Hacienda is in a gated community along the ocean with many beautiful unique homes. The community pool overlooks the ocean and there are many areas just to sit and take in that ocean and of course the most beautiful sunsets. The village at the beach had amazing restaurants with food that was amazing. All in all, this was the most relaxing vacation we have ever had. We definitely will be back next year to enjoy this gem of a home in paradise.

Best vacation ever!
We returned home on Saturday from La Villa Bella 😔😔, I didnt want to leave! Its hard to write a review when you have so many great things to say and not sure how to express how grateful and happy we are but I will start by saying that this house, the staff and the location exceeded our expectations. The house is beautiful, big and SUPER clean. The pool is amazing, the gardens, the views, everything! But the best part, Chelo, Jazmìn, Nilo, they treated us like part of their family!! Thank you for everything guys That kind of care and attention you wont find in ANY resort. Also a shout out to Luis, Don Lupe, Yesenia and everbody who made sure we had a great time. Also a big thank you to Jossie who was always in contact to make sure we were ok and having a good time. Thank you again Nilo for the wonderful time my family and myself had visiting the beach and different places and for opening your house to us ❤️❤️ my kids will never forget the warmth and welcoming they felt from you and your family. My kids enjoyed touching the frogs, the geckos, the lizzards and eveb a crab! That visited the grounds We loved the food, that is prepared with a heart, thank you for the tunas (prickly pears) that you heard me saying I was craving! The fresh coconuts that Luis got for us, the mangos, the real and fresh orange juice every morning (being Mexican living in Canada, I sure appreciate the delicious real oj) Having a conversation to people in our own language was amazing! It made me forget how homesick I can get sometimes Thank you again Chelo and Jazmìn for cooking special things for my picky daughter 😁 I cant wait to go back although next time will be in Winter as my husband couldnt deal with the heat 🤣🤣 Unfortunately, and this has NOTHING to do with Villa Bella, the tide was to high to cross to playa tortugas but Nilo to the rescue again! Not sure what else I can say to convince you to visit La Villa Bella, im sure you will fall in love like we did. If you like night clubs and party, perhaps Punta el Custodio is not for you but if you are looking to rest, recharge and enjoy your family dont wait and book!!! Thank you Jossie ❤️

Beautiful, well-appointed home in a gorgeous, natural and secluded location. Fabulous meals prepared by Chello, and highly responsive and kind interactions with the owner Jossie. This is a top 10 for quality, tranquility and beauty. My only very minor concern was hard mattresses and pillows. We'll be back!!

Paradise on the bluff
Villa Bella is one of about 15 villas perched up on a large bluff surrounded by ocean waters. one side of the bluff you will find stairs leading straight into the ocean water. you can cross the water inlet (usually with the low tide the water goes unto your waist height) to the playa de tortuga. This is where you can let the sea turtles out to the ocean from the turtle preserve. On the other side of the bluff is about a 10-15 minute walk to a very quite sleepy little beach town called Plantanitos. A few restaurants and a mini mart. We were the only visitors on the beach for a few days but def gets busier on the weekends. Chilo and her assistant helped cook all meals everyday. The meal plan was an additional cost but incredible value for what they do. Homemade from scratch every meal every day. The house was perfect. An architectural masterpiece. The house has a private pool and hot tub (you will need to ask the maintenance guys to turn the heat on for hot tub). Then the property also has a larger community pool right under a big beautiful tree at the tip of the bluff. This villa is not facing the ocean but in the center of the other villa's that line the beach. It is nice as it is quieter and you still have a small view of the ocean from the master and on the second floor. This was truly a special place and I plan on taking my family annually!

This house is beautiful! Read all reviews, regarding bugs. Definitely take bug spray! The house is located in platanitos, need a car to get around. The service from communication with he owner, Maintenace and housekeeper is Excellent. We bought groceries in Vallarta and cooked for ourselves. There is restaurants 15 min walk to the beach where you will find restaurants and a mini store. Make sure you take Advil, medicine needed. When, we say there is nothing there . There really isn't anything there. We truly enjoyed the house.

Amazing house, location, and chefs!
From beginning to end of our 5 day stay, everything this property and chefs had to offer was above and beyond! We had a total of 3 couples and there was plenty of space for all. The pool is very relaxing and all of the areas of the house provides a tranquil environment. Chelo and Jasmine, the maids/chefs were absolutely amazing and also made authentic, homestyle cooked meals for the entire length of our stay. One of our friends has very serious food allergies and they were able to accommodate so she could enjoy the home cooked meals too. 5 stars, 2 thumbs up, everything was wonderful about staying at this house! Definitely looking forward to visiting again.

The gorgeous pictures of this property don’t do it justice - it’s even more stunning in person. We visited with our family and played at the beach every morning and afternoon, and swam in the pool. The perfect place to reconnect. The meal plan made everything so simple and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend this property and location for a family trip.

Great getaway for family surfing and sitting pool side
Our family of five spent five days in the compound and never left. We had breakfast, lunch, and dinner prepared for us each day by Chelo, sat pool and beach side, and surfed the 2-3 foot waves everyday. The beach has a large sand bar, which is nice for kids and even adults to learn to surf on. Internet - each house has its own satellite Internet connection with wifi. The wifi worked for us in the main room and pool area. Also, it should be noted that Verizon or roaming Verizon does not have service at the house, but has 3G at the beach. The Internet is slower than your typical Wifi, but works. We look forward to returning next year.

Unwind, Unplug and Recharge.
Josie, Thank you so much for sharing your amazing property with us. I never write reviews but this trip and your property was so wonderful I had to share with others. Your property was beautiful, clean and the details at your villa were lovely. We felt safe and very taken care of. Chelo and Nello were both so wonderful to us and the food was delightful with everything made from scratch. Chelo's flan is amazing!! The entire property at Punta El Custudio is well maintained and all the staff were kind. This is a trip for those who want to unwind, unplug and recharge. I suggest renting a car as options are limited for transportation if you ever want to leave the gated community to see any of the surrounding area. Be sure to bring some bug spray as the noseums can be a bit bothersome at times. Thanks again for giving us the best vacation ever.

Beautiful, spacious, well appointed villa. Clean, peaceful area, in gated community.
Would definitely recommend this villa. We had two families of 7 people, with older kids. We had plenty of space for our group to gather inside or outdoors, with several thoughtfully arranged spots for smaller groups or individuals to enjoy on the property. The master bed has a foam mattress topper, and I'd like to suggest this would make the other beds more comfortable. There were a few in our group that found the beds too firm. I doubled up a blanket under me and was very comfortable. We used our rental cars to travel to many villages in the area. We found a gorgeous waterfall, El Cora. Great hike. It helps to have some knowledge of the Spanish language in this more remote area. Our cook, Chelo, was patient with my attempts to communicate. We had other members more fluent, thank goodness. I liked using the meal plan. No cooking or clean up for us. Much of the food was really delicious. Chelo and Irene cleaned the villa daily and prepped and cooked. Perfect! We were there in February. The beach was super private, very few people, water was super warm. We like to boogie board, and people surf there. Boards are available at the office on the property. The property surrounding the villa is beautiful, well kept, with spectacular views of the ocean. I have to mention that my family is allergic to bug bites and the sand flies were especially brutal. The other family we were with had hardly any bites. Read up on these bugs before you go if you have a tendency to get mosquito bites. Sand flies are jejenes, or what we call noseeums. We should have been better prepared. Jossie, the owner, was easy to work with, answered questions as we planned our trip. It was a fantastic vacation villa that I would recommend.

Amazing Hidden Gem
I have rented a lot of vacation houses and the location in proximity of cities of this one was totally different, it is its own eden very cool property for a development. The house and property is very well appointed. The surrounding areas is about all you could ask for in a vacation get away. At first I was concerned that it may be to far out of town there was no wifi and very little cell coverage if any. I soon came to the realization that we would need to entertain ourselves and we soon huddled a little closer (6 of us) and we had more fun playing card games, swimming in the pool at the house and also the main pool, playing at the beach, checking out surrounding towns and this was with teenagers and young adults that have never been without cellular coverage. A great place to unplug which is hard to find these days. Chelo and the rest of the staff took great care of us, we had a meal plan which meant no cooking, highly recommend. The actual town of Plantanitos is a beach with a few open authentic mexican beach fair "restaurants" all seafood all day was delicious and the people were great they offered to deliver food if we wanted. Jose the owner was very accommodating in regards to my requests for certain days for the meals we were gone a few days exploring and new we would be away Chelo also kept track of our needs. Overall I believe it was one of the best memories we could have made. The only draw back was I was not prepared for the "noseeums" little nat type bugs that are heaviest at dusk, by the time I realized and started with some bug spray the damage was done they had gotten my legs. I spoke to a guy that does fishing tournaments out of San Blas which is 50km north and he told me that they take Vitamin B a day or two before and they don't get bit or need to use the bug spray not sure of dosage. Bring some games and grow some memories I would recommend this place highly. Thanks Jose Cheers

A true "Ocean Villa" experience, but there were a few things we wished we'd known.
We had a week long family reunion at Villa Bella with six adults. Villa Bella feels like a beautiful country villa. The spacious, beautifully decorated buildings are surrounded by lots of jungly foliage, palm trees, and giant old trees. The staff made every effort to make us comfortable. We chose to cook for ourselves, but it was a true luxury to have Chelo do the dishes and tidy our rooms. Also, the location, out on a remote point edged by a river, offers many opportunities for observing nature, long walks, kayaking, surfing and enjoying the beach. Horseback riding and a few other activities are available. The house has a booklet that describes these, but it is not accurate, so go to the office to find out what is possible. Some of the things we didn't understand until we got there are: Punta Custodio Villa Bella is one of about 10 homes in a development called Punta Custodio. They share a security system with walls and a guard, roads paths and landscaping, optional activities such as fishing trips, a beautiful community pool, and staff who perform maintenance. Getting there We were worried about the dirt road into the place because blog comments portrayed it as containing “craters” and did not describe how long it was. It is actually less than a kilometer and all but the smallest or sportiest car can navigate the pot holes. So don't bring your Ferrari and you'll be OK. We found that if you navigate to “Villa Exotica” in Google Maps, it will get you almost all the way there. When you get into Platanitas just drive straight past all the buildings along the beach and at the end of town, go straight up the hill. This is where the bumpy road starts. Go straight all the way to the front gate of Punta Custodio. The security guard will direct you to your villa from there. NOTE: We found that the owner’s directions were not entirely accurate and were a little hard to follow because no distances. Surfing We were very glad we'd rented surf boards from Gecko car rentals in Bucerias on our way up from Puerto Vallarta. The surf is remarkable in that there's almost always at least some surf there, even when the ocean appears to be glassy. We're beginning surfers and we had a good time. More skilled surfers appeared to be having fun too, but all the rides are short. This is a great place for boogie boarding. VRBO limits reviews. Amazing!
Our time at La Villa Bella was incredible. The house was beautiful and the staff were so wonderful. My husband and 3 children spent 9 days over the holiday. The weather was amazing, the beach was incredible and very private and it felt like you had the whole place to yourself. The pool was also great! My kids loved it. If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful vacation this is the place to go!

Nous y avons séjourné 7 nuits. Maison magnifique. Emplacement exceptionnel avec une vue spectaculaire sur le pacifique, des jardins luxuriants. La maison est tres confortable. Lits parfaits, climatisation parfaite et cuisine tres bien equipée. La piscine était tres propre et agréable Tout le personnel etait fort accueillant. Nous avons pris le services avec repas et wow, nous avons mangé comme des rois Je recommande d’avoir une voiture. L’endroit est un peu isolé. Pour cette raison, le service du chef était fort utile Je recommande fortement

Rejuvenation!!
We needed a quick getaway and this location and home offered the perfect amount of relaxation and remote beauty. We used their service for the private chef and were very satisfied with the food and the warm greetings and energy of the entire staff. Beautiful gardens, peaceful and tranquil afternoons by the pool, and adventures exploring the nearby beaches!
