The property will suit a family or a group of friends. Situated in the open countryside with things to do locally and also a close drive to York or Beverley with numerous tourist attractions, Minster, Yorvik Centre, Various museums including Railway museum and Castle museum. Open top bus rides and boat trips along the river ouse with lots of bars and restaurants. Locally you have the Elvington Air museum, Allerthorpe water park and Gliding club at Pocklington along with various golf clubs in the area nearest being KP Club in Pocklington or The Oaks at Ellerton. First of all A big thank you to Sue, she is a great host, very helpful and friendly. The Fox Cottage was very cosy - very peaceful and relaxing with everything we needed, including a very nice welcome basket with home made brownies which we enjoyed when we arrived after a very long drive. The Fox Cottage is spacious, very well equipped and well situated not far from York and the North York Moors. The appliances in the house are modern and work very well. We found the beds comfortable, clean and well maintained. The cottage itself was very easy to access with a nice private accessible drive leading to it, off of the main road. The only minor downside was that the Wi-Fi did not reach all areas of the property, and there was no phone signal, but that was not a priority during our stay. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience with great service from the host. This was our first holiday in Yorkshire, and thanks to the cosy barn, Sue, and the vèry friendly people in Yorkshire, we will gladly come back. The local town of Pocklington was lovely with everything in it along with a lovely market on a Wednesday, and you can walk there along the canal though it is quite a walk.
