Find hotels in Yauli from CA $57

The best area to stay in Yauli is the town of La Oroya, as it's the primary urban centre in the province and offers the most amenities.

La Oroya is situated at the confluence of the Mantaro and Yauli Rivers, acting as a significant transport hub in the central Peruvian Andes. While not a tourist destination itself, it serves as a practical base for exploring the surrounding high-altitude landscapes and historical sites. The town has basic accommodation options, local eateries, and small shops.

For travellers interested in the region's mining history or those needing a stopover before venturing into more remote areas, La Oroya provides a functional and convenient place to rest.

The best time to visit Yauli is during the dry season, which runs from May to October.

During these months, you'll experience clearer skies and less rainfall, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the region. The days are generally sunny and pleasant, great for outdoor activities like hiking and visiting the various lakes and mountains. This period is particularly good for those looking to engage in photography, as the landscapes are at their most striking.

If you're interested in trekking or exploring the high-altitude areas, the dry season offers the most comfortable and accessible conditions. The trails are less muddy, and the views are often unobstructed.
