Cette charmante maison de vacances, attenante à la propriét���� du propriétaire, est un moulin à maïs du début du XVIIIe siècle rénové avec goût. Doté de poutres apparentes d'origine, de pierres apparentes et de quelques travaux du moulin, le cottage donne sur la rivière Marron. Branthwaite est un petit village situé à proximité du parc national du Lake District; il se trouve à seulement 4 miles de Loweswater et à 9 km de Crummock Water. Magasinez 2 miles, pub 500 yards.

Had a great holiday terrific host ,house is great, great local pub ,5 min walk serves great food and dog friendly,scored local amenities 3 stars due to lack of a local shop ,nearest shop Workington or cockermouth 15 to 20 min min drive. One small criticism about house was maybe time to have settee and chairs replaced ,not very comfortable look a bit past there best,but would book again.

Comfortable accommodation. A little out of the way, but good for our purposes. No mobile phone signal is always a problem in rural areas. The shower needs modernising but usable. The owners were on hand to provide advice when needed. Would use again to visit family.

Very nice short stay.

Very nice short stay. Rooms are bigger than they look in the pictures. Very comfortable and cozy. We were there for Christmas the owners left complimentary tea coffe biscuits and a bottle of prosecco. The only thing was we only had one pillow each. What a wonderful place to stay.

What a wonderful place to stay. The Corn Mill is a charming cottage & full of character, as well as being spacious & spotlessly clean. The owners were very friendly and pleasant & always on hand if we needed anything. The extra touches they included to the accommodation like kitchen cloths /cleaning products, milk, teabags & biscuits, even loo rolls were a lovely touch on arrival so there was no rush to find a shop straight away. We had a lovely stay at The Corn Mill. Some home comforts had to be removed due to COVID guidelines but it speaks to how lovely the cottage is that we still felt it was cosy and comfortable. A week's holiday in Cumbria for two of us. The Corn Mill, Branthwaite is a lovely place to stay with good access to the Lakes, particularly the North West Lakes, the coast and to the lovely market town of Cockermouth. Branthwaite is in lovely country outside the Lake District itself and is a really quiet place for those who want to get away from the crowds. The building is interesting, with surviving mill machinery on the ground floor. The conversion to holiday cottage is very well- done, and the accommodation is really comfortable. Keith and Carol are kind hosts and were always concerned to know that we were alright and had everything we needed. It couldn't have been better! Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

The Corn Mill is a wonderful cottage, just a little further out from where we normally stay around the North Western Lakes, but what a little gem of a cottage. It was excellent value for money and we will definitely stay there again. The owners are just lovely and Keith was so kind to help us out with a little spot of car trouble. The cottage is really cosy and warm and the downstairs area for drying boots and walking gear is perfect. Wonderful holiday, really can't wait to book again! The Corn Mill is a lovely place to stay.

The Corn Mill is a lovely place to stay. As soon as you you enter the cottage, you find the original mill workings beautifully preserved. This room actually makes a great space to leave water proofs, walking boots, wellies etc as it is all stone floor. You then go up a level to a lovely open plan kitchen/ diner and sitting room. The kitchen has everything you could want and the sitting room is cosy with a lovely gas wood burner which is ideal for when the temperature drops in the evenings. The bedrooms are spacious and the bathroom is very nice. You won't find this quality at this price anywhere in the Lakes. Outside, the river runs about twenty metres from your door and is a lovely place to sit for an evening drink. The garden is private and just by the river also. BBQ facilities including charcoal, kindling etc are all included. The river is great for trout, sea trout and Salmon and if you talk nicely to the owners of the cottage they should be able to get you on the river for free! Locationwise, this is perfect for the North Lakes and coast but Windemere and Conniston are within an our. Loweswater, Buttermere and Crannock are just down the road, less than 20 mins away. Derwent a bit further, 30 mins odd. The pub up the road, The Royal Ewe is lovely and does great food. Cockermouth is not far and has all the shops, pubs etc you could want. However, the best thing about this cottage is the lovely owners who are right next door and cannot do enough to make your stay a happy one. They have lived in the area all their lives and know the Lakes like the back of their hands. They were brilliant guides to us and felt like old friends by the time we left. We even got a ride in their vintage sports car! We can't wait to go back! Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Wonderful Country House

We had a wonderful time here, traveling from America in August 2019. The house had everything we needed to be comfortable, and the owner was patient and kind. It is best to have a car here, to travel the beautiful Lakes District and the fascinating slate mine. There is a pub in walking distance that was inviting and friendly. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!

Great stay,very peaceful,picturesque location,stunning scenery all around.Cottage clean, comfy and cosy,well equipped with a welcome tea tray on arrival. Nothing too much trouble for the hosts,Keith and Carol,very friendly,welcoming and accomodating.Keith extremely knowledgeable of surrounding and local areas and always willing to offer advice on places to go and see.Had a fantastic stay ,already recommended to friends and family, can't wait to return in the very near future.

A lovely few days away in a home from home cottage.

A lovely few days away in a home from home cottage. What a lovely cottage well equipped kitchen, with added extras such as tea, coffee, sugar, foil, cling film, food bags, every thing thought of. Nothing seems too much trouble for the owners, the biscuits and milk an added touch. Very spacious, pet friendly, fantastic location. The sky light windows, fantastic to watch the star filled sky, brilliant ! Would definitely recommend this cottage.
