Really enjoyed our stay – shame it was only one night. I was travelling overnight with my teenage son and thought we might as well stay somewhere nice with a pool! And it was.
Lots of parking on a rainy Sunday night in August. Family Room was a really good size – wouldn’t have been cramped with a couple plus two or three children. Nice enough pool, sauna, steam room, etc – really helpful member of staff (Gina?) explained what was where.
Really liked the same evening menu served in the bar as the adjacent restaurant – makes the choice easier if you don’t want too much formality. Carly and James really pleasant and efficient behind the bar.
Lovely breakfast – even the tomatoes were grilled properly: soft, succulent, sweet, as opposed to the raw-with-burnt-skin most places serve now. Good bacon.
Negatives? Only the comedy wash basin design in the bathroom . . . but there was a hair drier to dry my trousers off with. Got me twice! Everything else worked in the room.
Building itself is architecturally uninspired, but the staff were super.
Aim to go back for a weekend with my wife. I’ll warn her about the wash basin on the way . . .
