Our villa is a private home located in the residential area Jan Sofat (a 24/7 gated community), just 5 minutes by car from the beach, restaurants and supermarkets. The villa is build on top of a hill providing you with a constant breeze and a spectacular view over the Caracasbay, Spanish Water and Caribbean Sea. The villa sleeps 10 comfortably, with 3 spacious bedrooms and 3 bathrooms on the second level, a game room with a sofa bed on the main floor and a fully furnished apartment with its own kitchen at the pool level. The apartment gives you enough privacy if you want to bring (grand)parents, friends etc. For indoors entertainment there is a brand new 60” lcd TV as well as free Netflix, an Apple TV, Netflix and a DVD player with 5.1 surround and about a zillion DVDs. Complimentary Wifi/ Internet access throughout the house. Want to escape the heat? Well, there is an airconditioning in EVERY room of the house, including the livingroom. You won’t find that often in Curacao! The kids will LOVE the game room, it offers a TV, a DVD player with loads of kids movies, as well as books, boardgames, a comfy sofa and kids desk. This room even has a sleeper sofa in case they don't want to leave ;) The upgraded kitchen provides all needed for home made dinners including a Chefs Gas Stove and a brand new washer and dishwasher. For formal dinners you can dine inside or dine outside and enjoy the romantic evening views over the water at the porch. There is a powder room for your convience on the first floor as well. Upstairs you will find 3 bedrooms. The first bedroom is the masterbedroom with a king bed, a sleeper sofa, with it’s own master bathroom and a gorgeous view of the boats in the bay as well as the ocean and the city of Willemstad. The second master bedroom has a queen bed and two twin beds and has its own bathroom. The third bedroom offers a queen bed with ensuite bathroom. The 4th bedroom can be found downstairs in the apartment. The private apartment has a bedroom with a queen bed, a bathroom as well as a livingroom with a fully equipped kitchen, a dining and seating area. The apartment will be available for groups of 9 or 10 which is reflected in the price per night. The apartment is also available for smaller groups on request at an additional fee. All rooms have airconditioning. The pool level can be reached by the stairs 1 level below the main level and is protected from curious kids by entrance doors if needed. The huge pool deck with natural stone (which doesn’t get hot in the sun) offers a romantic cabana dining area, a pool lounge set and sunchairs to soak up the sun. At the pool area you will also find the barbeque grill, great for family dinners at the pool! There is a huge deck for the kids to play in their own playhouse with climbers, swings etc. We have kids, we know what they like ;-) And for the little (and big) ones, there are TONS of pool floats and some kids snorkel equipment Local beaches as Jan Thiel beach are only 5 minutes away. She was friendly and helpful and definitely added to our overall satisfaction. Suky, the property manager was incredibly responsive and helpful. Close to Mambo Beach, Tugboat Beach, the aquarium and east side activities. Grocery stores were 10-15 minutes away. Willemstad is 20 minutes away and Wespunt beaches were 45-50 minutes away. If you want to experience the whole island and not just one resort beach, this is a great location. AC worked really well and cooled the house very quickly. The house has big, beautiful windows that all open to allow a cross-breeze that keeps the house comfortable without AC. Adding blinds on the front windows would help keep the house cool in the morning because the sun is hot on the island. Stove is huge and once you learn how to light the propane it's very easy to use. The pool was lovely to come home to after a day out exploring the island. We loved having dinner on the patio and watching the sun set. A car rental is a must. We rented through Pierre and Sharon and would do so again. Loved our stay in this amazing villa located just outside of Willemstad city center in a gated community. Our family of 6 had loads of room in this spacious, multi-level pool home, with loaded kitchen and all the comforts of home. Extras were very nice (coffee, dish soap, laundry soap, sun-screen, extra kitchen bags). Franca (property manager) was amazing especially since our arrival was very late! Her time was greatly appreciated with explaining specifics with the villa upon check-in and throughout our stay. Would highly recommend this villa for families! ##### Sue S. It's a beautiful setting with great areas and sizes of rooms. The bedrooms are big and each has an air conditioning unit. Bathrooms are great. Main living area is open and airy. There is a great, large covered porch we all spent most of our time on. The pool and the area around it, including a covered gazebo were also great to use. We had a few issues early on but had easy access to both the homeowner and property manager and they were addressed quickly. Nice, safe, gated community and easy to get to nearby beaches and stores. We are 2 couples from the US who stayed here for a week. It's a really lovely home with a well equipped kitchen, beautiful pool and outdoor area, and toys for water such as floaties and snorkeling. We didn't bring kids but this house would be great for 2 families with kids. The middle bedroom could sleep 4 kids and there is a TV room with a door that closes as well as the great pool! Early morning & late night swims in our private pool were my favorite. Everything you need is here so ask lots of questions. I was bummed to learn that there was an iron/board and Bluetooth access to the amazing sound system during my check-out! The house is massive and beautiful. So many levels and different areas that it was ideal for a group of 7\. The location cannot be beat. It is in a gated community in one of the nicest parts of the island. The pool is fantastic as is the large up to date kitchen. We cooked some great meals at the house using all the appliances provided and the bbq. Some great restaurants and stores are a mere 5 minute drive, as is the beach. And there are so many beaches to visit. Pierre was wonderful in assisting us before we arrived and Just Drive gave us a great deal on two rental cars. We have been to many islands over the years and really fell in love with Curaçao. So much so that we looked at buying our own house there. We would highly recommend this place, it is one of the best houses on the island. We will be back again for sure. ##### Leanne Z. May 17, 2016 #### Fantastic property and holiday We enjoyed a lovely holiday in Curacao, highlighted by our stay at the villa. Based upon the information depicted on the website and through emails exchanged with the owners (Pierre and Sharon), we had high expectations for the property. We are not disappointed, as the property was everything we had hoped for! The property was simply beautiful; very well appointed, with tasteful furnishings and all the desired amenities, as well as a fantastic view of the Spanish Water and surrounding hills. We especially enjoyed the very nice pool and deck/patio areas of the property. As for the surrounding area, there are beaches and recreational activities within 5-10 min from the house. There are also a number of great restaurants in the Jan Sofat/Jan Thiel area, so one doesn't have to go far for great cuisine! From start to finish, the entire process was totally painless, from the initial inquiry and booking, through check-in (assisted by the lovely Franca), to check out and recoup of deposit, everything went smoothly. Bottom line, this is a wonderful property that we will not hesitate to enjoy again on our next trip to Curacao!! Highly recommended!! ##### Pierre & Sharon A. Mar 20, 2019 #### Lovely house that makes you feel like you're home My two adult siblings and our spouses as well as our mother stayed for a week and left with memories to last a lifetime. Each morning we woke up to the sugar birds trying in vain to build their nest in one of the porch chandeliers or bird houses as we interrupted them with coffee and breakfast outside. We all enjoyed the pool immensely and were grateful to be able to find some type of shade on the porches or in the house during the humidity and heat of the day. Be sure to watch a sunset from the porch. They are incredible and make great photos! Spend the day at Mambo Beach, which is about 10-15 minutes from the house. And you are better off heading in that direction to go into the city center as navigating the roundabouts can be tricky, as can the agressive drivers. The only negatives were the house had a few leaking issues when we were there - the washing machine, apartment toilet and tea pot all leaked, but that didn't detract from the time we spent at the house. The property is as shown, a little more lived in than photos, but that is expected The kitchen is well equipped and had a handful of spices which had been left over from previous guests. We used the kitchen daily for breakfast, snacks and a few dinners. The bed and bath linens are of quality and the provision of beach towels is very nice. Make sure to pack all toiletries, as bath soap, shampoo and conditioner are not provided, but easily purchased at the grocery. The area is very safe and quiet. We walked int he mornings around the neighborhood and rarely were passed by cars. For those who keep a workout routine, we found the resistance bands we travel with could be used in many ways, as can the hill outside to the left of the house. Great family workouts on the deck. The pool is lovely and was great to take a dip in on and off when we were home, as it is obviously hot and humid. We highly recommend renting a car, as it would be very difficult to get around without one. Renting from the owners was a breeze. Check in and communication with Mario was easy. Internet worked well, but could be slow if we had several devices hooked. Easily solved, but disconnecting. As few of our favorites were the pig beach, Blue View restaurant and cliff jumping, Wednesday night dancing, Thursday evening live music in Punda and of course the flamingos. ##### rebecca N. From the beginning Pierre was very responsive. He knows the best beaches, restaurants and special Curacao places. One of those special places is this home. The master bedroom with a super comfy bed is like a private paradise. The other bedrooms are also great (according to our daughters who used them) The AC in each room does a great job keeping things nice and cool during the Curacao heat. The fully stocked kitchen is gorgeous and user friendly. We cooked in about five times, State of the art, large fridge and great gas stove and oven. The fridge and freezer held all our food and booze.. mostly booze and beer... comfortably Lots of comfy seating and dining spots. We loved the inside of this house, but the real magic is outside. The pool is spectacular. Lots of lounging space in and out of the sun. We were in the pool during the day and at night. Love the Wi-fi speaker system that you can hear throughout the house and in the pool area. Franc is wonderful and responsive. She even purchased some groceries for us that were waiting when our late flight arrived. The only slight disappointment was the 'game room'. There aren't really any complete games to play. But it did look like there were toys for small kids. We will come back to Curaco and we will try to lock down this house again.
