In the birthplace of Leica cameras, explore the Ernst Leitz Museum before wandering through the medieval streets to Wetzlar Cathedral. Cross the ancient Alte Lahnbruecke for riverside views, then visit Colchester Park when local joggers have it mostly to themselves.

Ernst Leitz Hotel Wetzlar

This was the best hotel so far during our two-week trip to various cities in Germany. My friends and I were photography fans so we tried staying at this hotel which located within the Leica global headquarters campus. There was a Leica museum right across. The hotel though is remotely located away from downtown Wetzlar but one can take a taxi from the Wetzlar train station for an average of 15 euros. The hotel can also call a taxi for you if you want to go to downtown.
