I have been whale watching 4 times in my life. All 4 times The best we saw was a hump a mile or two away. Here, even though we were weeks after the season had ended and the whale should have been heading south, we saw about 14 whales. Some of them came within feet of the boat. One even turned over and watched us watching her.
