Public access allows the use of Kayaks/Canoes/Tubes/Fishing and more!!\*\* Bearadise is a cozy retreat to the mountains with views and an ideal location. The cabin is private, but not isolated, with other cabins not too far away. You are very close to the river in this neighborhood – in fact, you are close to everything but you’ll feel like you are a world apart, which is just what we come to the mountains for. The oversized front porch is the perfect place to read in the rocking chair or sit and relax on the porch swing. Everyone will enjoy an evening of S’mores around the outside fire pit! Inside, the cabin’s cozy architecture is expansive, featuring vaulted ceilings and an open floor plan. In the evenings or cold weather season, gather around the fireplace to play games or enjoy streaming on the TV. There’s something for everyone here- whether you prefer to stay home and grill something delicious or enjoy a night in downtown West Jefferson, you will not be dissatisfied! Bearadise is perfect for a family, couple or two couples for a quick getaway or extended vacation. Comfortably sleeps four people. The cabin has two bedrooms, each with a queen bed. One full bath and one half bath. You can’t beat the location of Bearadise. Here you will find yourself only 10 to 15 minutes to much of what attracts people to Ashe County, including West Jefferson, a happening town with breweries, galleries, antiques, a movie theater, quaint shops, restaurants and festivals. You can pick up the Blue Ridge Parkway less than 3 miles from the cabin and enjoy log range views for miles. No matter which direction you chose to go the famous scenic views of the parkway will not disappoint. Less than 1/2 mile from the cabin is the South fork of the New River. Public access allows canoeing/kayaking/tubing/fishing and even swimming! Less than 10 minutes from the cabin you can splash in the water and play at Elk Shoals, a tourist favorite in Ashe County. You can put your kayaks in at Elk Shoals and take out at Zaloos off Hwy 16 (about a 3-4 hour float). If you don’t have your own, don’t fret- you can rent canoes and kayaks from Zaloo’s just north of Glendale Springs or head south toward Todd and rent from River Girl Fishing. Here you can also rent bikes for the pleasant – and level – ride along Railroad Grade Road. Here you can embark on a 20-mile trip from Todd to Fleetwood to Todd again. Only ten minutes away you can enjoy excellent hiking and views from Mt Jefferson State Park. Enjoy a hike and a long range view picnic after. From here you are also about 30 minutes from all that Boone has to offer. Only another 15 beyond that you’re in Blowing Rock with even more shops, dining and antiques. We are 1 hour ten minutes from Beech Mountain. Winter weather in the Blue Ridge Mountains can occur from late October through early April. It’s only a few minutes from downtown West Jefferson, but gives you a place to relax without neighbors. The place is tastefully decorated and comfortable. There’s pretty much everything you need: pots/pans, cooking utensils, coffee maker, washer/dryer, and fire pit. There was even left over firewood to use which was great! We will definitely be back, but I recommend AWD/4x4 even in the warm months ##### Austin T. My husband and I spent two weeks at Bearadise and couldn't have had a more perfect time. The cabin was welcoming, comfortable, well maintained and immaculately clean. Everything in the home was modern and functioned very well. The island was huge and, even though it was just the two of us, could have seated 6 people. The wi-fi and internet connections were fast and reliable and the smart TV with Roku was appreciated. The deck and windows looked out on a beautiful wide, long-range tree view with gorgeous sunrises. The woods to the side and back of the property were very pretty too. The owners placed rockers, a bench, a swing and a fireplace on the deck which made it easy to sit, relax and take it all in. There was also a fire pit and chairs with the same beautiful view. We enjoyed a night of meteor showers with a very clear, expansive dark sky environment. The walk-up access to the home is easy with only 5 wide steps. It was perfectly situated to explore not only Ashe County, but the neighboring counties as well. The proximity to Jefferson and West Jefferson was perfect. The owners were very nice, truly easy to work with and extremely responsive to any inquiries. We were there during the Christmas holiday and they had placed a sweet tabletop lighted tree in the living room. It made it feel very homey. They also left a fun welcome basket and indoor and outdoor games. We had an overall exceptional experience and would most definitely choose to stay there again. ##### Andrea (Dea) M. Well equipped cabin and great area to visit. We were only there to get a tree and greenery post-Thanksgiving but would gladly go back if we have a longer time to visit. I felt like AWD or 4WD is a must to get up the road. A rear wheel vehicle would likely be a challenge. We have a 6 year old daughter who enjoyed S’mores by the fire pit as well as playing a game or two from the bin. ##### Charles B. I actually thought this was a newly constructed cabin. Fresh, clean, with all the plusses that were needed. Tv's were there but why watch them when you have nature at its finest. We had a nice welcome package of snacks. The cabin had everything you needed if you wanted to cook. The cabin/mountain decor was just perfect. I loved sitting on the porch enjoying a great view of the mountains gas fireplace was wonderful. We enjoyed the corn hole game. We seen deer at dusk in the valley on our drives back to cabin. listening to the birds and the animals scampering in the woods was peaceful. Downtown West Jefferson is a must see such quaint shops. Home slice was a great restaurant authentic NY pizza./ menu. Blowing Rock & Boone so close by. Also a must see. I definitely would return to this beautiful cabin.
