"We were very satisfied with our stay in Foz do Arelho, especially because the apartment was wonderful. It is spacious, bright, airy, and tastefully and comfortably furnished, with a beautiful view of the lagoon and the ocean. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. Parking in front of the building was absolutely hassle-free during our stay.The apartment’s location is excellent, just a few steps from the coastal restaurants and a good bakery. In nearby Caldas da Rainha, you can buy all your groceries, both at local markets (vegetables, fruit, flowers, fish, and seafood) and in well-stocked supermarkets).There are plenty of opportunities for hiking along the Atlantic coast or inland, as well as for day trips to nearby towns and villages (São Martinho do Porto, Nazaré, Alcobaça, Óbidos, Rio Maior, Peniche, etc.). Walks around the lagoon are also very nice. Communication with Ana and Richard was excellent; they responded to our questions almost immediately and promptly took care of whatever was needed (for example, they quickly and efficiently adjusted the heating when the temperature outside dropped sharply and unexpectedly). All in all, we highly recommend this apartment and hope that this first visit of ours wasn’t our last."

"The area the resort is located is beautiful. It is a five star, but the building needs paint & the rooms need a bit of attention. ie rust in tub, drain not flowing properly. The staff are friendly & very attentive!"

"Booked two nights in a four-bedroom villa expecting a five-star resort experience, but unfortunately it did not meet that standard. On arrival there was no complimentary water, only two coffee pods for a four-bedroom villa, and no milk. There is no room service or way to call for basic necessities. While there is a restaurant on site, it is not at an elevated level. When I phoned ahead to arrange dinner, I was given options that were presented as part of the resort, but two required a 14-minute drive to another property, which was disappointing after travelling over 30 hours from Australia. The experience was poor enough that we left after one night despite booking two. Expedia suggested a refund for the unused night, which the hotel declined. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I wouldn’t want others expecting a true five-star resort experience to be misled."

It comes with a washer and dryer which came in handy and our host was readily available and provided some great recommendations. You won’t be disappointed staying here. "
