Our vacation home, completed in 2023, is situated in the open countryside below the Hohenzollern Fortress of Wülzburg and the Rohrberg. A hike to Wülzburg and the Rohrberg is a must.
The beautiful historic center of Weißenburg (2 km), with its sights, is easily accessible by bike or on foot.
There are many great day trips to the Franconian Lake District or the beautiful Altmühl Valley. There’s a lovely playground for children at Lake Altmühl.
In Pleinfeld, there’s a summer toboggan run for all ages.
The Steinerne Rinne natural monument in Rohrbach is also nearby and well worth seeing.
In Solnhofen, you can also go fossil hunting.
During the summer months, it’s a great idea to stop by one of the beer gardens to recharge. Good options include the Naturfreundehaus am Rohrberg, the Auraunuskeller, or the Wettelsheimer Keller in Treuchtlingen. There are also various events by the lake (e.g., "See in Flammen") or at the Bergwaldtheater.
The vacation home features full thermal insulation made of natural fibers; the windows are triple-glazed and equipped with electric roller shutters. Underfloor heating is also installed. Free Wi-Fi and parking in front of the house are, of course, provided.
The light-filled open living area, featuring a large kitchenette, a dining table, a cozy corner sofa (with a sleep function), and a flat-screen TV, is located on the first floor. There is also a guest restroom with a window on the first floor.
The kitchen is well-equipped, featuring an induction cooktop, oven, refrigerator with freezer compartment, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, and plenty of dishes and glasses.
A washing machine is located in the shared basement with the landlord.
On the first floor, there is a bedroom with a double bed, a wardrobe, and a dresser. The second bedroom is furnished with a bunk bed, a wardrobe, a dresser, and a sofa bed. The landlord provides the bedding. The 10-square-meter balcony is accessible from both bedrooms. On the west-facing balcony, you can enjoy the great outdoors. A special highlight is the sunset.
The apartment is furnished with high-quality solid oak furniture, which gives it a unique charm.
The small bathroom on this floor features a window, a large shower, and a toilet. Hand towels and bath towels are also provided.
In case of bad weather, we recommend a visit to the Roman baths, the Roman Museum in Weißenburg, or the thermal baths in Treuchtlingen.
