Description: Nestled in a remote haven with wildlife and solitude our Lake House has been recently equipped with Starlink high-speed internet. Our three level lakefront house on 1.6 acres is located north of the town of Wedowee on the big Tallapoosa River of Lake Wedowee. Year round water and a 60 foot deep channel. Paved driveway and ample parking both at the house and room for trailer parking at the top of the property. It is located at the end of a 2 mile gravel road that is well maintained. Keep your speed 25 or below, there are potholes. You do not need 4 wheel drive. Four bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths. It is a little confusing to find the place and we will get you there with great directions. The house is fully stocked and includes 2 kitchens, 2 family rooms, 3 covered porches, laundry closet, lake gazebo. Bring your boat or use the kayaks and canoe down at the dock. This is very private with only one neighbor and way less boating traffic area of the lake. Ski, tube or wakeboard in the channel right in front of the dock. Western sunset views over the mountain across the channel. Well water and yes it is drinkable. Enjoy the scenery, paddle up river for about 10 minutes and view the eagles nests in trees standing in the water, start a fire in the outdoor fire pit. It takes about 20 minutes to drive to town to the grocery store. Well behaved pets are welcome. The main floor has a bedroom and bath, kitchen, laundry closet, family room, front and back covered porches and is fully functional for those who do not want to climb stairs.

Reminder: We now have reliable Cell Phone and Internet Service with the Starlink high-speed Internet. You can load your own Streaming Packages with the Roku or Smarttvs provided. We also have DVD players, 300 movies, 100 books, games and puzzles for additional entertainment. A wonderful secluded piece of property with all the amenities you will need. Great outdoor and indoor entertainment spaces and 2 kitchens. Kim was a pleasure to deal with and responded to all messages quickly. Will stay here again.
It was a perfect place for our family of 12 to enjoy the lake and each other! Everything was great except for the road getting in and out! Pretty rough! The added touch of fresh flowers was awesome!
We cooked the entire time we were there--Thanksgiving dinner, turkey gumbo, grilled fillets....it was wonderful. Thank goodness for 2 refrigerators. We had one of the most memorable times with our young adult children and mother. We did late afternoon walks and saw deer and wild turkeys each time. Built a fire in the outside firepit while hubby grilled steaks. Had a roaring fire in the living room fireplace, while we all watched football for 4 days (hated to leave all that ash but we couldn't find a metal bucket to clean out fireplace). It was so remote and quiet we forgot what peaceful sounded like.
The road was curvy, hilly and skinny but it was dry this week so no problems there.
Both microwaves had their issues but we were able to figure one of them out. The lower level one probably needs to be replaced. The lower level shower needs some instructions on how to turn on but the host was very helpful getting back with us.
Will definitely be back.....if they will have us....the pictures do not do this place justice. It was such a beautiful, cozy cabin. Thank you so much for sharing your home away from home. BEAUTIFUL!!
The house is the perfect place for a quiet, but fun getaway to the lake. You can rent boats/jetskis near by and the water is crystal clear! About a 20 min drive to town. Restaurants were fantastic, definitely go to Boondocks and Hacienda. We had Fun antiquing downtown and in surrounding towns as well. Will be back with the family next time.
This was an impromptu getaway from a hurricane with our whole family. Absolutely beautiful setting. Wonderful memories made. Everyone wants to return for a regular vacation under better circumstances. I would highly recommend!!!
We enjoyed every minute of our stay here. Of course we loved being down at the water but the house was just great. Our favorite spot was the deck! We will be back!
The house was set up nicely . 2 miles back on a backroad far from anything We even saw deer and turkey plus a baby fox. it had 3 floors with many bedrooms and beds. If you enjoy a Quiet stay away from everything and everyone this weekend in April is perfect , it’s on a lake so i’m sure in the summer there will be lots of water activities.
Loved our stay on Lake Wedowee. The property is exactly as represented. It was very isolated, which was what we wanted.
The water and dock were perfect for swimming and kayaking. Kim was timely and thorough in her responses to questions before the trip. We hope to go back!
The house and property were even better than the pictures! Super nice place. The drive in was pretty rough, there was quite a bit of dog hair downstairs, and the downstairs shower did not work. Other than that, it was a beautiful place and the whole process was simple. Would recommend and go again!

This was our 2nd year booking this home over Thanksgiving break. This year didn't quite turn out as the first year due to changes the owner made to the cable (changed to ROCU), WIFI, and internet, and a storm which came through the night before knocking out ALL communication to the entire house for 3 days. The owner didn't communicate this outage nor the change in the wifi/cable, etc. to us and we were basically left managing the repair with the wifi/internet company to salvage what portion of the trip we could. I'm sure in the summer months this would not be a problem however with college students preparing for finals on Monday, a husband & son who enjoy Thanksgiving break football, our 85 year old mother who traditionally loves watching the Macy's Thanksgiving parade, and myself, wishing to leave repair issues back at home ......it was a bit difficult to get through. We were completely blind-sided by these changes/outages. I also don't suggest washing anything of value in the washing machine because of the iron well water. Our daughter of course came from college with a couple loads of clothes to wash however left with permanent yellow and orange stains on the majority of them. There was one bed which had clearly not been changed and washed from the last occupant which was a bit gross but thankfully we able to choose another bed. Besides the above items.....the home and the scenery is absolutely the BEST place on EARTH!! Very sorry it didn't work for us this year:(
This home is located on beautiful property with a lake, quiet, everything you need is there except food you want to cook. Excellent place to walk and enjoy nature!
Pros: large home with beautiful views, canoes, fire pit and fishing gear, well stocked kitchen, 2 refrigerators, 2 dishwashers, 3 decks with seating overlooking the lake., owner responded quickly to questions.
Cons: downstairs microwave not working, downstairs shower not working, well water has a very strong iron taste, dog hair needed to be cleaned up.
The home was amazing with beautiful views! Everything was very clean and the home was well stocked. We really enjoyed swimming & kayaking. The lake is beautiful! Kim was great & very accommodating as we had to make a change with our dates. I would recommend traveling in a SUV or truck because the driveway is steep.

House was the right size. Outside was nicely done.
The house was the right size for our family. It had the right number of beds. Was very surprised to see 2 rope beds, which my daughter and her husband wouldn’t sleep on. They said they were not comfortable. The house was not as clean as it needed to be and the outside bed has covered in dog hair. Owner did respond quickly saying her mom was in the hospital and she sent something else to clean. The drive in was a little more than we expected but we had no problem since we were in a truck.
Beautiful property, very quiet, well stocked with everything you need. We stayed with other family members from out of state and we cooked to take food to a large family reunion, had everything we needed. Kids loved the boat dock and canoe.
The house is gorgeous, along w the view! Came with family for the weekend and had a wonderful time. Our second time at this home, will definitely come back!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything was provided that we needed and loved being right on the water. The drive out to the house was a bit more intense than expected(especially with boat trailers). We made one run into town for groceries so we didn’t have to drive that road much. Other than that it was perfect.
This house far exceeded my husband's and my expectations. The pictures just don't do it justice. The house is exceptionally clean, and the kitchen is so well stocked! (Not often you find a rental house that actually has corningware.) The house is very spacious and well decorated. The bed in the master bedroom on the main floor was extremely comfortable. The linens and towels are of really good quality and there are plenty of them! Right on the lake it is a beautiful setting with ample seating outside to enjoy it. We would love to come again sometime.
