Clean Hotel Close to Airport

Posted 5-May-2016
I only spend one night at the Double Tree in DC but was completely satisfied. After an unfortunate cancellation of my flight I immediately booked a room at this hotel. A shuttle came to pick up me and a few others within 15 minutes. The receptionist was friendly and didn't babble (witch I appreciated very much in an effort to get as much sleep as possible before my early flight). The room was clean and tidy. The windows could use a cleaning from the outside. Since I took the first shuttle at 5am I did not get the opportunity to taste their breakfast.

Hotel Stay

The hotel was nice overall and the room exceptional. The parking was very tight and too expensive taking the cost of the room into consideration.

The Double Tree was a nice hotel, it was what I've come to expect from this establishment. Clean room and good customer service. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any travelers looking for a good place to rest your head after a long day.

Nice and comfortable hotel

Posted 16-Apr-2016
Although I only stayed here because I had an early flight in the next morning (and because of the cookie), my experience there was more than that! It's close to metro stations and shopping center, and it's walkable and safe. The room inside is quiet and neat, and the bed is comfy. I will definitely stay there again! : )

Shuttle

Posted 9-Apr-2016
They have a 430a early shuttle to Reagan which I woke early to catch. The shuttle is parked behind a wall with no signs indicating where it is and at 430a there are no additional employees downstairs. I got to the shuttle at 430a exactly, looked for the shuttle... Woman standing there pointed me to the shuttle and I briskly made my way to it as it was parked in front of another shuttle bus further obscuring its visibility. The shuttle literally pulled off as I walked to it. Had the driver been more aware of his/her surroundings or taken 10 seconds to see if anyone was coming since the shuttle area was so obscured and no one else was around would have prevented the issues and would've added clarity that no one else was coming I called a taxi since this hotel does not attract a taxi lineup. Cost me $8. Not the point. It was a needless and disappointing annoyance that easily could be avoided.

Two nights staying for the cherry blossom race

Posted 9-Apr-2016
Pros: Convenient to metro, spacious rooms.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Very close to Pentagon City metro stop and Pentagon City Fashion Centre.
We traveled to DC for the Cherry Blossom 10-mile and decided to stay at the DoubleTree for the first time. We booked a room with one king-sized bed in a deal that included no extra parking or WiFi fees. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. It seemed very popular for large groups and conferences and we had to wait a little bit when checking in late Friday night. However, when we finally went to check in, we were greeted graciously and given the signature DoubleTree cookies (very delicious). Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The best part about the hotel was how convenient it was to the metro and DC. Although there is a shuttle, we decided to walk to the Pentagon City metro stop, which was a 5-7 minute walk. From there, it was only a short ride into DC. We were given a letter on Saturday to warn us that the hotel would have a larger than usual amount of people checking out that Sunday and providing ideas to avoid the rush. When we arrived back at the hotel around 10:45 a.m. after the race, there was no line and we checked out quickly. It was great that the hotel staff thought proactively to let visitors know, and we were happy to have alternative check out options. Overall, it was a wonderful stay. I'm hoping to plan a trip back to DC sometime soon, and I will definitely look to stay in the DoubleTree again.

The hotel was nice and of course my children loved the cookies at check-in!
