This was perfect for us as we knew that we would be using it mostly as a place to sleep and rest after long days of walking. It was nice and clean when we arrived with all of the amenities in the description. We were able walk to the Capitol and mall but it is a pretty long walk, about 30 minutes. Most of the time we just called an Uber and saved our stamina for the attractions. Rideshare is highly recommended and only cost around 10 to take or pick us up from wherever we happened to be. The Metro train was also a convenient, inexpensive way to get around the city. As for dining, there are several nice places to eat close by to the apartment that are very easy to walk to and very good! My host, Tamba was very responsive and accommodating. The location is close to the Capitol (the center of DC), so for me as a walker, I walked everyday to the city sites I wanted to visit. The location is a short walk to the Metro, which was also very convenient The accommodations were very comfortable and cozy, and I felt very safe in the rental and the neighborhood. We usually stay in hotels, but they were so crazy expensive, so I checked vrbo. I am so glad I did, because THIS APT IS SO NICE!! We didn't meet the owner in person, but communicated via chat and he is so nice! The apt is under his home, but has a completely separate entrance.The door has a bolt lock with a code that he sends you the day before you get there. It was a rainy/chilly wknd, but we had no issues getting ubers or food delivery. (If you've ever stayed near Cap One Arena, you know this can be a major pain!) It has a full kitchen, but we were only there a day so only used the microwave and fridge, but it's stocked with plates and glasses and silverware and pots to cook with.I thought the bedroom didn't have a tv from pics, but it does. The bedroom was my favorite part. It has overhead lights and a pretty lamp and a window and free wifi on the tv. When we got back from the show, we ordered food and went to bed, and the bedroom was a lovely ending to the night. There's a big, soft bed with lots of pillow and blanket choices, and and air purifier in the room. I slept so well! The headboard has plugs for your phone too, which I appreciated a lot! I was nervous to book my first vrbo, but it was EXCELLENT. Saving this property because we come to DC for weekends quite a bit, and I loved it. I'd absolutely stay here again. ##### KRISTI R. The property was clean and cozy. We had no difficulty with finding on the street parking and had a parking permit ready for us upon arrival. Of note, we stayed on a Sat - Tues and were unaffected by street sweeping days. The kitchen had enough cookware for our needs, we did use the oven, a frying pan, the microwave, and the coffeemaker (a lot!). There are several local restaurants available as well. The bed was very comfortable. The futon was adequate although my teenager complained that it was hard (it is a futon, this is rather expected). The shower was very nice even if it is a bit small. The kitchen also is very tight but again, this is an expectation in an area where space is at an extreme premium. However, I would not recommend staying here. It was not as clean as I would like and it was little bit rougher. The biggest reasons that I wouldn’t recommend it is because you are in someone’s basement and you can hear every move they make, the area did not feel safe, and the whole place was filled with a strong weed smell during the evening and early morning. ##### Maddy K.
