The best area to stay in Wana, West Virginia is typically in the surrounding larger towns like Morgantown or Fairmont, as Wana itself is a very small, rural community with limited accommodation options.

For most travellers, Morgantown offers the most comprehensive choice of hotels, dining, and amenities. It's home to West Virginia University, which means there's a good selection of quality hotels, particularly along the Suncrest Towne Centre area or near the university campus. This area is convenient for accessing larger retail stores, a variety of restaurants, and has good road links for exploring the wider region.

Couples looking for a more relaxed stay might consider Fairmont. It's a slightly smaller city than Morgantown but still provides a comfortable selection of hotels, often at a slightly better value. The downtown area has some historic architecture and local eateries, and it offers a quieter atmosphere while still having essential services readily available.

The best time to go to Wana, West Virginia, is during the autumn months, particularly from late September to late October, for pleasant weather and stunning natural beauty.

During this period, the Appalachian Mountains surrounding Wana are ablaze with vibrant fall foliage, offering breathtaking scenic drives and excellent opportunities for outdoor activities like hiking and photography. The temperatures are typically mild and comfortable, great for exploring the local area without the humidity of summer or the chill of winter.

For those interested in outdoor adventures, the cooler, drier weather of autumn is ideal for visiting nearby state parks such as Coopers Rock State Forest, known for its overlooks and hiking trails. It's also a great time to explore the Monongahela National Forest, which offers extensive opportunities for nature walks and wildlife spotting. This season is particularly appealing to couples and solo travellers looking for a tranquil escape into nature.

Families travelling with children might also find autumn agreeable, as the comfortable temperatures make outdoor exploration more enjoyable for all ages.
