"Everyone at the lodge was pleasant and helpful. We had a great hike, a pleasant dinner and breakfast, and saw so many manatees. There were renovations in progress and it was very cold out but that didn’t bother us at all. The very nice staff more than make up for little inconveniences. "

"This is a wonderful place. From the setting in the woods on a clear river, to the cabin with every need already in place, to very gracious hosts, it is a destination that we will want to come back to again and again. Full amenities in the kitchen allowed us to eat in, in the evenings and breakfast in the mornings. Charmingly decorated as a country cabin should be. Close by interesting places to visit, our favorite is St. Mark's Wildlife Refuge. The birds singing in the mornings sipping coffee on the dock was, I believe, a solid dose of mental health therapy! "

"We stayed at this property very last minute and were so happy they had availability between renters. We were in town staying at a different location when we had an accident (we hit a black bear at night with our vehicle) and we needed to stay in town a little longer to complete the insurance process and find a car rental. This space is beautiful! We took pictures of the space because we would love to build a home with a layout that is similar. Everything was so clean and well cared for. The kitchen didn't have everything we needed, but that was okay we got along just fine. There was only 1 tab for the dishwasher and laundry, so make sure you bring a few more if you are staying longer than 2 nights. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for a larger family to spread out and eat at the table together. The neighborhood is quiet and felt safe. There were a couple of neighborhood dogs that showed up 1 morning and barked at us, but didn't really bother us much afterwards.Shaun helped make out stay wonderful! We will definitely be back for another stay the next time we are down for a visit!Thank you :) "

"John is a wonderful host. He provided an abundance of useful information that helped us plan our stay. He was very responsive to any questions we had about our visit. The home is very nice with a well stocked kitchen. The location is fantastic with a great dock that leads to the Wakulla River. The end of the dock is a great place to relax , have a drink and enjoy watching the abundance of wildlife on the river."

"We are repeat visitors and this property never disappoints. If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind this wildlife sanctuary is a great choice. This rustic cabin in the woods is clean, comfortable and above all else PEACEFUL. The host is responsive and accommodating and the 20-acre property seems completely isolated but is close enough to town to make everything convenient. We launched our kayaks from both the Upper and Lower Wakulla Bridges (less than 5 and 10 min drive away) and we truly enjoyed the fire pit and stargazing after dark. Definitely recommend for nature loving travelers."
