The River is great for great for swimming, kayaking and Waipu Cove is 5km further down the road. Lovely north-facing verandah is very sunny and warm. The house sleeps five - one bedroom with a queen sized bed, one bedroom with 2 x single beds and a bedrooms, and a divan bed in the upstairs lounge; and has one bathroom. We loved the 160 year old tree in the cemetery. I think the museum gave us some context to the location and the history. Needs a few repairs to the deck to keep it safe but other than that a great kiwi Bach experience . stairs creaked a bit which freaked out my friend but overall we had fun. Loved that we could walk straight down to the river for a swim. Close to town but away from crowds. Plenty of room to sit on the deck and for the kids to play on the lawn at the front. There is a large table that easily accommodate 5 people with a big couch along with 2 arm chairs and even a rocking chair. The bathroom has a bath and shower combo with a seperate toilet. There is a laundry tub and a washing machine along with a washing line. There is also a cool graveyard next door and the kids enjoyed reading the plaques and history. However, the Bungalow is ideally suited to family with young or older teenage children, with plenty of outdoor space and activities with water nearby and easy access to both townships of Waipu and Waipu Cove.
