"Very nicely appointed apartment conveniently located in Brussels near transportation hubs, restaurants and grocery stores within easy distance by walking or car. Parking is a bit different but with a little experience it’s easy to navigate. The Park is just across the street and is a very relaxing walk through and ends at the Basilica. "This is a very new apartment with all new and modern appliances and finishings. It’s a wonderful space and perfectly central to everything in the city. It lacks a few things that are important however. Such as a towel holder in the toilet and bathroom, a shelf in the shower. There is plumbing downstairs for a 2nd toilet which we felt was very needed. Also during our stay was 26-30 degrees C. Without a/c, or fans, we had to open the windows day and night. Unfortunately it lets all the mosquitos...

It was a good price, so perhaps we should not have been surprised to find that it was in need of maintenance. There was some dodgy-looking electrics, no basic handsoap, no towel rings for hanging a hand towel near a sink, damaged walls etc. Overall, it made it feel cheap, and.... edgy. "Great central location but couple of issues - lights in bathroom didn't work, there was a massive ridge in the middle of the floor (trip hazard) & the fridge was not working - in fact it was running very hot & there was a burning smell in the unit (plastic was warping inside fridge around light) - a clear fire risk. When informed Smartflats simply thanked us for the info & made no attempt. to remedy or compensate. Poor service as we rented the apartment to prepare our own food & were limited....

"Place was clean, but may not have been used for a while as there is an odor of sewer when I first arrived. I ran water in all the drains, opened the windows, and it went away. But I would recommend if the property manager knows no one has been there for a while, to check it before it is rented. I get that Belgium has a thing for buying your linen, but they knew I was one person and outfitted all three beds and lots of towels. Lastly, they kept trying to charge me to take out the garbage but...

A number of minor issues which we notified straight away - to be fair we asked for nobody to fix them while we were there but I took photos on arrival so we wouldn't be accused of anything."

"This property is in a very seedy neighborhood! I could not find an address anywhere on the building but waited until other guests exited so I knew it was the correct place. When we arrived we messaged the contact person for directions to enter. We waited 1 1/2 hours and received no reply as of yet. We found other lodging. The communication could be me fault as I should have requested 24 hours earlier, but no reply after 3 messages?? I would not suggest anyone booking here. "

"The location is excellent, just a 5 mins walk to the central train station and shopping district. Staff are friendly and polite. However during our stay, our one bedroom apartment TV was spoilt on the 2nd day. Informed the staff and they cannot solve the problem, so left us with no entertainment at all throughout our stay for the next 4 days. "
