You can’t get much closer to that clear green water and fine white sand than this property. Walk a block on the picturesque ocean road that fronts our house to the market and get breakfast biscuits and the morning paper. Take your dog on a walk and your kids to the beach with lifeguards on duty. Or find a more a more private spot right in front. Splash around in the big pool ( it is Not heated) and relax after in the HOT TUB and in the loungers. At sunset , grill on the front deck with a view of the ocean or check out the sunset from the back deck as your family hangs out in the pool or game room below. Cook dinner in the spacious and bright kitchen and enjoy ocean views from the main living salon with high ceilings and bright summer colors. Sleep in comfy beds and comforters after a long day of beaching, boating, golfing, playing, sunbathing and above all relaxing at the beach. and if you feel like eating out you can walk a block to a restaurant and sports bar without ever getting in your car!! Game room has bunk beds and a sleep sofa...( not a bedroom but...) new carpet and furniture in great room. Leather sectional with 3 power recliners!! we painted the entire interior in bright summer colors. In 2015 we renovated the kitchen with a new floor, granite countertops and refinished cabinets. New cookware. Landscaping around the pool. We have high speed Wi-fi . 5 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths Sandbridge is a quiet little beach neighborhood several miles south of the Virginia Beach strip just to the north of the North Carolina line. Sandbridge is sometimes referred to as 'the Outer Banks of Virginia'. We have 5 bedrooms, and sleep 11 people comfortably in beds. There is a set of bunk beds in the bunk room, but we do not advertise it as a regular sleeping area. The bunk room is a detached garage that has been converted to its own space with a ping pong table, full size refrigerator , bunk beds, and flat screen Smart TV. Bring your XBox or video games and hook up to the TV. Kids love it as a getaway from the parents, and it does provide some extra sleeping space. It does not have a bathroom or closet. Ample parking! We widened the original driveway to accommodate more vehicles. Since there is no on street parking this has really made parking easier. This house is semi-oceanfront, with views and sounds of the ocean. We are one row back from the first line of Oceanfront homes. The beach is really close and we actually are on the dunes and have a dune in our front yard. The large pool is on the other side of the house and gets great afternoon sun. We are only one block from the public beach where lifeguards are on duty in the summer months. If you have small children this is a big plus. The street in front is generally for local traffic and has very little traffic, even in the peak of summer. Beach access is right across this sleepy little road. You can walk down this little street about a block or so to the local market for morning coffee, fresh doughnuts and the newspaper. You can watch the sunrise from the front deck while the others sleep and look forward to another sunny day at the beach. In the evenings, some of our guests like to enjoy cocktails on the front deck looking out over the ocean. You can walk to get food and drinks! Next to the fully stocked market and deli is The Sandbridge Island Restaurant with ocean views and excellent food. In the evenings it is fun to walk from the restaurant over to the yogurt shop or Ben and Jerry's for dessert before walking home. If you don't like getting in your car to go everywhere you don't have to. There are other restaurants a few minutes drive away. "The Baja" rocks with live music most nights in the summertime. Back Bay Wildlife Refuge is just a few minutes south and you sometimes see wild horses and pigs and other wildlife year-round. If you want to cook there is a fully stocked kitchen, gas grills on the front deck with ocean views and one on the back deck too ,and large areas for dining either inside or on the front or back decks. Hell's Point Golf Course is about 5 minutes up the road and is consistently ranked in the top 100 of all public courses in the country. Tennis courts and playgrounds and a fishing pier are another 5 minutes in the other direction. The close proximity to the beach, neighborhood center and public facilities mean you don't need to get in your car for days at a time.. ... If you want more action you are only a few minutes drive to great shopping, restaurants, the nightlife of the resort strip of Virginia Beach or another hour or so to Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens and Water Country. Sandbridge is surrounded by the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge and as a result there is no through traffic. All traffic headed for Sandbridge is going only to Sandbridge. This remoteness is part of the charm of this fabulous little beach. It is out of the way but still very accessible to everything. Plenty of space. Description of property is accurate. Kitchen is well stocked. Pictures are what the property looks like. The owner is very helpful and responsive! Roomy, well supplied kitchen but the table and chairs are cramped against the wall or hinder the walkway if pulled out. Double doors to bedroom areas did a good job of keeping out noise from the living area. Quirky isolated game room is smelly, but would be a great separate space for older kids. Pool and hot tub were very nice. Great location, beach access across the street one house down, grocery and restaurant one block away. Parking for at least 4 cars. ##### terence b. Covered all of our needs. Great views of sunrise. The pool was very nice to be able to come back and use for evening swims with the family after a day at the beach or after dinner since it gets full evening sun. The host was very prompt with answering questions and made arrangements to fix things what needed repaired while we were there. The pool is also very well maintained as there was a pool cleaning service making their rounds early one morning. Plenty of hot water for showers, dishes, clothes washer. Wasps around hot tub top edging and back upperdeck. Grass/sand area by pool was unkept. Website stated heated pool - NO heated pool. I really liked the house location. It was perfect. It was clean and the kitchen area had more than enough dishes, pots/pans/silverwear. I’m sure as the season progresses that they’ll more than likely have all of the above things fixed. ##### Anne P. The kitchen was stocked really well. There were pots and pans for light or heavy duty cooking. Plenty of dishes for serving many guests at one time. Pool was cleaned before and during our stay, and they were cleaning it as we were leaving for the next guests. I found the bedrooms were very quiet even with people in the living or pool area which is great if you have different bedtimes living together for a week. This house definitely worked for us. Would rent again. As an added perk, there are fresh apple fritters available every day at Sandbridge Market which is about a 3 minute walk from the house. We've been going to Sandbridge for approx. 15 years now and this was one of our favorite spots. so convenient to everything - from shopping, food - even the beach is directly across the street. Beautiful views and even great neighbors. The house is massive, far more than we needed but great for a large family/group. The house was as depicted in the pictures. Upon arrival I had to call about the oven door handle being broken and being duct taped. While on vacation we don’t usually use the oven. Also, clean towels were left, but dirty towels were still in the bathrooms and bedroom. The pool and hot tub were lovely. Pool and hot tub people were there once during the week and when we were about to leave. It should be known they were gonna come unannounced. Grateful for the clean pool and hot tub though!
