![The ruins of the Belgium Coke Ovens inside Vinton Furnace Experimental Forest. The ovens were built to produce coke from coal to use in the iron furnace.

These structures at the Vinton site are thought to be the only existing ones in the world. 

The original structure built in the 1850's included twenty-four ovens: seventeen of which remain standing.

« This is a great cabin for a romantic getaway, but there was also plenty of space if we had brought the kids and some air mattresses. It was very, very clean (especially the hot tub) and getting into/checking out of the cabin was easy. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of essential dishes/flatware/pots, I think I even saw a waffle maker! « The host was attentive to our needs. A snowstorm hit the day after we arrived and Nick made sure we had flashlights, candles & charcoal. He also plowed the driveway several times while we were there. The cabin was cozy and well equipped. Our dog really enjoyed having a fenced in area to run. »
