The house now has a new layout and is equipped with a luxurious new kitchen, ditto bathrooms and new furniture. The house is completely insulated (cool in the summer, warm in the winter) and a CV has been installed. Now also rental in the winter period! (The swimming pool will be closed from 1 November to 30 April). No need for busy tourist resorts? Looking for authentic Sardinian life among the locals? Located just outside the village of Villaperuccio, in the south of Sardinia, between the vineyards and olive trees, this spacious villa with private swimming pool (10x5). All rooms are on the ground floor and around the house and at the swimming pool you can enjoy the tranquility of the rural surroundings. This place is ideal to serve as a base from which you can discover southern Sardinia! In the vicinity there are also beautiful beaches (quiet and tourist), the capital Cagliari and many places of interest in the field of archeology and culture. Within walking distance of the house are shops, a mini supermarket, bakery, butcher, pharmacy and restaurants / pizzeria. This house is ideal to serve as a base for discovering the beautiful southern Sardinian surroundings. In the immediate vicinity you can: \- visiting the excavations of Montessu, this large prehistoric necropolis, discovered and excavated since the 1970s, is undoubtedly one of the most interesting archaeological sites on the island, due to the importance of the study of rituals and funeral types of people living in Sardinia before the arrival of Nuraghe. \- view the Grotte Is Zuddas. The famous caves of Is Zuddas are located on Meana Mountain at 256 meters. This unique and unreal setting houses four rooms with stalagmites and stalactites. \- climb the castle of Aquacadda. The ruins of this castle are spread over 3 levels on a volcanic rock. It dates from 1200 and was strategically placed as a vantage point and because it was difficult to storm. A guide tells you during a tour what life was like at the time. \- enter the Carbonia coal mines. This old coal mine "Miniera di Serbariu", active from 1937 to 1964, has been transformed into a "coal museum" after a major refurbishment. You will find an exhibition of the coal mine history here and during the tour of about 45 minutes, under the supervision of a guide, you can experience the coal mine yourself. \- go to the zoo in Giba. Here is the nature park 'Parco degli Angeli'. Nice to spend a day and get acquainted with many animal and plant species. Upon arrival at the bridge you will see a beautiful lagoon with Sant ‘Antioco in the background. These lagoons and salt flats are inhabited throughout the year by flamingos, stumps, cormorants and gulls. Sant'Antioco has countless historical sites such as the Chiesa di Sant'Antioco (built on the Punic and then Christian catacombs) and the nearby Museo Archeologico. The city has a wide port and an extensive 'centro storico'. There are countless beautiful beaches on the island, such as Maladroxia. Many varied events, festivities and fairs are organized in Sardinia during all seasons of the year. Every village has its own 'Sagra'. In Santadi (the village next to Villaperuccio) the Mauritanian wedding is celebrated every year. A colorful parade of folk groups from different parts of Sardinia is followed by a real wedding on the large village square. A young couple is united in marriage through a religious ceremony, following the ancient pastoral and peasant tradition. And all visitors are witnesses! Of course you can also enjoy the countless beautiful beaches that Sardinia has to offer. At 15 minutes by car from the house you will find Porto Pino, this beautiful sandy beach is very large and has a 'tourist' part (with rental of sun beds, umbrellas and pedal boats), but a little further you can also lie very quietly. It is also recommended to take a ride along the coast once, you will then come across beautiful white sandy beaches that you will be the only one to use. Furthermore, a visit to the capital Cagliari and the excavations at Nora / Pula are a must. There are also several aqua parks near Cagliari where you can enjoy yourself all day long. The villa is private, large and well equipped with a fantastic pool surrounded by vineyards and fields. Villaperuccio is a good hub to explore the South Western Coast and mountainous inland areas. There was a lack of restaurants within walking distance but there are two small minimarkets in town and a large well stocked Eurospin 5 mins drive away. The only area’s for improvement in our opionion (bearing in mind the price) are provision of bags for the many recycling bins and perhaps a few more dishwasher tablets. The 2 hour pool cleaning service twice a week would be more user friendly during the daytime when you are out. One evening they came at 6pm. Communication with the Manager had to be through the owner in Holland as she did not answer our messages. However the owner was always very quick to respond. We spent a few days exploring beaches of Saint Antioch which is about 30-40 mins. We visited Terrureda Beach which is stunning but we had to reserve the day before. Sadly Delfina no longer runs her restaurant just down the road so we had to drive to eat out but found places about 10-15 min drive. The host was super prompt on any question that I had. Provided is beach towels, sun parasol and 2 chairs. In August we would have appreciated air conditioning to make going to sleep easier. Take insect repellant too. We had to buy in stuff like soap, detergent, bin bags but Provided was oil, sauces and some coffee pods. Mit holprigen Seasonstart und schneller Fehlerbehebung durch die super sympathische Nachbarin Delfina haben wir unseren Urlaub sehr genossen und uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Villa hat eine ruhige Lage und ist richtig gut ausgestattet und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Man kann erahnen, dass der Garten mit seinen tollen Pflanzen in absehbarer Zukunft wunderschön aussehen wird. Um der Villa herum gibt es Restaurants und einen Supermarkt, auch gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Im Umkreis sind viele Ausflugsziele, die wir auch gut mit unserem Elektroauto erreichen konnten. Auch bei den Ladesäulen gab es keine Probleme. ##### Angela T. Mit Fahrtzeiten von 30-90 Minuten gibt es etliche lohnenswerte Strände und Ausflugsziele (historische Stätten, Höhlen, Wandertouren, Städtebesuche) in der näheren Umgebung).
