Top Villagonia Hotel Reviews

Hotel Lido Mediterranee

8/10 Good

"The staff is really nice and friendly. Clean hotel"

Hotel Isola Bella

10/10 Excellent

"It's old, the rooms are small, the shower was tiny, and there's no parking, but that's really all you can say against Hotel Isola Bella. The location is fantastic, especially if you have a sea view - the sunrises are spectacular! Staff were super helpful (and generous with the after-hours wine!) The buffet breakfast was plentiful and cheap. We didn't use the pool. A good, very affordable Hotel."

Hellenia Yachting Hotel

8/10 Good

"⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Value, Convenient Location, but Room for Improvement The Hellenia Yachting Hotel offers good value, especially if you’re driving and looking for a convenient base to explore Taormina and the surrounding area. There’s a convenience store and a great gelato shop nearby, although you’ll need to drive to reach the main beach area. The hotel has an impressive marble interior, though the decor is somewhat dated. My room was spacious with a comfortable bed, but cleanliness could have been better, and there was a faint odor. As mentioned in other reviews, the buzzer system allowing people in and out can be noisy. I slept fine with earplugs, but light sleepers may find it bothersome. Since I visited after beach season, the beach chairs had been removed, but I still enjoyed some sunshine on a lounge chair on the outdoor deck overlooking the ocean. Parking was convenient, although it was essentially a dirt lot, and I had to contact someone each time I entered or exited. Breakfast was good, not great, but convenient with a three-hour window each morning. The staff were helpful, though I’ve experienced friendlier service elsewhere in Sicily. Overall, a comfortable stay in a good location at a reasonable price. Improvements in cleanliness, noise, and facilities would help, but considering the value, I’m giving it a generous four stars."

Grand Hotel San Pietro Taormina - Preferred Hotels & Resorts

10/10 Excellent

"We would give this hotel 6* if it was possible. Everything from check in to check out was fantastic. The hotel and their staff are of the highest quality yet remain friendly, warm and welcoming. We came for our honeymoon and had the most wonderful time. We used the spa, ate at the restaurant, drank at the bar and were transported by the valets. Everything was perfect. We will be back. Grazie mille from David and Adam."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Villagonia?

The best area to stay in Villagonia is along the waterfront, particularly around the main piazza and the Lungomare.

This area is the heart of Villagonia, offering direct access to the sea and a relaxed, coastal atmosphere. The Lungomare, or promenade, stretches along the coastline, lined with establishments that provide lovely views of the Ionian Sea and the bay towards Taormina. It's a flat, easy-to-walk area, making it very convenient.

Couples often find this area ideal for a romantic getaway. Many hotels here offer rooms with sea views, and you're just steps away from beachfront dining where you can enjoy local seafood. The ease of access to the beach for a morning swim or a sunset stroll makes it particularly appealing.

For those looking for a slightly more elevated and private experience, the areas just above the Lungomare, on the lower slopes leading up towards Taormina, offer some excellent options.

When is the best time to go to Villagonia?

The best time to visit Villagonia is during the late spring (May to early June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are smaller.

During these months, the sun is warm enough for comfortable beach days and exploring the area, but the intense heat of mid-summer is avoided. You'll find it easier to book popular restaurants and find a spot on the beach without feeling overwhelmed by too many people. The sea is also warm enough for swimming, making it ideal for a relaxing holiday.

For those who enjoy a lively holiday with plenty of events and a bustling atmosphere, July and August are also good options. However, expect higher temperatures, more tourists, and a need to book accommodations and activities well in advance.

Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?

You can cancel your hotel reservation on Expedia, though it depends on the cancellation policy of your booking. Most bookings are refundable if canceled within 24-48 hours of the scheduled arrival. Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. If free cancellation is available, you can cancel directly through your Expedia account by logging in, going to "My Trips", and selecting your reservation. To find flexible deals, filter your search by "Fully refundable property" for hotels in Villagonia.

How much is the nightly rate at a Villagonia hotel?

Prices for hotels in Villagonia often vary, but you can find a great deal on Expedia. All sorts of factors affect price, such as the time of year or the days of the week you choose for your stay. Find the best deals by being flexible with your dates, and sort search results by "Price: low to high" for the cheapest rate.
