"The hotel is showing wear, but the staff is outstanding. Several little things need to be repaired/replaced, but with a remodel pending those should be handled. I had curdled milk on two separate days! Both containers were well within the best by date. There's a problem somewhere! Missing flatware in our suite. Missing bulbs in the bathroom fixture. Bathroom sink faucet is hard to operate and should be replaced. It's time for the remodel. Can't express strongly enough the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Good folks doing their best with a deteriorating structure."

"Extremely limited parking was a BEAST as construction ongoing in their parking building & usual parking not available. Actually felt unsafe going out to where car was parked, so just door dashed meals to my room in the evening. Room was absolutely gorgeous & comfortable. Walking distance to state capitol & we truly enjoyed the free tour offered there. Also walking distance to a hometown breakfast diner. Skip the $15 hotel breakfast buffet & checkout the local gem Hanover Pancake House"

"This property is beautiful. Lots of room for a big family. We stayed with our parents and adult children and grandchildren. The porches were such a nice place to sit and visit. We also loved all the open space. Rooms were set up nicely with options for kids. The dirt road to the property was walkable/joggable and there were a lot of deer on early mornings. Easy drive into Topeka or Lawrence. Also, we were able to get a Walmart delivery even though it’s just outside of town. Lastly, the host was so kind and responsive!! We definitely recommend the property for large families or a few couples visiting the area!"

"Aside from the kids from the hotel across the way coming over and banging on everyone’s door at 11pm, it was a nice place! The girl up front (not sure what her name was) was the sweetest human and very personable and made the experience great. Glad I chose this place to stay at for the night!"
