It was absolutely beautiful property and the staff were fabulous. The birds and flowers were beautiful af just magical. We enjoyed breakfast every morning on the balcony. It was just lovely. The spa and massages were wonderful. We had great mani pendis. We felt so at ease and relaxed. It’s truly a magical place.

The property is like an old mission. Pretty neat. What I didn’t like is the noise level of music all night long. Then, there was banging on gongs by 5 in the morning. Was not happy at all.

This hotel is truly a hidden jewel, tucked on the base of the hill this place will give its guests amazing views and a super cool colonial atmosphere. Breakfast is included and the food is pretty good. To go to the main square and the town in general you can walk “a nice 2 mile walk” or they will let you borrow a bicycle or you can drive if you have a car. The fact that the hotel isn’t next to the main square gives it a secluded private set up. Staff and service personel very polite and responsive, didn’t get to use the pool but it sure look tempting. In all I strongly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Villa de Leyva!

It’s like a standstill in history. Absolutely no renovations, no upgrades of any kind, rooms are TINY.....just seems like the same hotel from 30 years ago. If they’re going to claim to be pet friendly, pets should not be required to sleep in a dog shed. It’s either this or an 80,000 peso additional charge. Took my tiny Yorkie to breakfast (outdoor courtyard) and was told dogs were not allowed. Next morning “Victoria”, a large labrador was there and I was told that dog is allowed because it’s the “hotel dog”. Ridiculous, ALL rules should apply for all.

Wow!!
Hotel was amazing! They have several rooms with antiques like telephones, sewing machines and several other things! The staff was very friendly! The pool was awesome! Everything was great, but the best part was the views of the sunsets, the city and the mountains. I can’t say enough about the place, it was incredible!!!! We will definitely stay there again!!!!

Sadly, the final invoice was wrong; it didn’t make sense even for the hotel’s staff. They charged taxes on top of the customary taxes. At the end, I got a sour taste of being overcharged. Not even an administrator could explain the overcharges. Be careful when paying the final invoice at check out. It is possible that they think that 30 bucks (USD$) on top of the legal invoice is nothing for you as a tourist. If they take a 3% of each tourist, just make numbers. Otherwise, the hotel has beautiful views of the town and mountains. The hotel is an old building but it is well kept. gorgeous gardens. Great staff except the people at check out; either they didn’t know how their system works or they played dum.
