Quiet, peaceful and spacious with wonderful porch, dining and outdoor BBQ areas. Vanderpool has clear night skies for telescope observing and is surrounded by the beautiful Texas Hill Country (and Lost Maples Nature Preserve). The Cottage would have been the perfect location to see and experience the Eclipse as it was very near the Eclipse Center Line. Unfortunately on Eclipse day, heavy clouds and weather moved in over Vanderpool and we relocated north chasing blue sky pockets and partly cloudy skies to finally see the spectacular Total Eclipse in Junction, Texas. ##### Thomas B. The walls/doors were grimy, cobwebs around the house, dirt around all the ceiling vents, toothpaste in the sink, etc. There was a large gap under the front door and we found Giant Desert centipedes on 3 different occasions inside the home. ##### Stephanie C. My wife and I really love the Lost Maples area, one of our favorites for natural beauty. Peachtree is in the middle of all that beauty with everything one could wish for to make their stay enjoyable.
