Simply amazing.

We had another wonderful stay! This year we made a point to use the backyard fire pit which came loaded with tons of firewood. Such a great family tradition spot!!

A lovely cottage in a great location

We loved our stay at the cottage. The gardens are beautiful and the kitchen had every utensil a cook would need. The location and proximity to the beach can’t be beat!

Fantastic Beach Home!

We were are family of 5 adults. Plenty of room, super cute, better than the photos.Fully stocked kitchen, everything you would need. Loved the backyard with the fire pit. The location was amazing ,close to the beach, local store and coffee shop. Susan & Victor are incredible hosts!

Perfect home for a perfect vacation

Absolutely lovely house within minutes of one of, if not, the best beach in the area. Wonderfully appointed home that has everything you need for a perfect beach trip. Room for the whole family, of all ages. Fantastic hosts, don’t pass this one up!

Absolutely Wonderful!

Amazing location and property. The place had ample beds for kids, and the trundle setup on the top floor is excellent. Between beach chairs, wagon, and sand toys - we truly didn’t want for much during our stay! Highly recommend and can’t wait to return!

Everything at this house is amazing. They had everything you could need for great family trip. The beach is a very short walk away. The hosts were great and easy to contact. We will definitely stay here again next chance he get.

Great family house for playing at the beach!

We enjoyed four nights with my husband and four children ages 8, 6, 4, and 2 and my mother and father in law. We slept comfortably and loved the spacious and well supplied kitchen and large dining table. We easily walked to the beach multiple times a day to play in the sand and water. The front and back porches were great additional spaces for spreading out. Everything was very clean and well organized!

Gem of a Vacation

We had 6 adults and 4 children across 3 generations on this vacation. Three Gems was able to accommodate us all with comfort. The cottage was clean and updated, with all the necessities and more! Great location. Wonderful home!

Close to the beach, very comfortable cottage

We had a great family get away at the Three Gems! The cottage is located on a quiet street just a few minutes walk to the beach and also a short walk to the Black Currant bakery. The cottage has a nice layout with many different spaces which made it more fun to spend some time in the cottage to have dinner, play games and listen to the birds on the patio. The beds were comfortable. The bed linen, pillows and decorations are new and nicely selected. Susan and Victor were easy to reach. A wonderful stay overall!

Awesome house for family beach getaway!

We loved this house! It was a great location - about a 5 minute walk to the beach and also a short walk to the Black Currant Bakehouse for morning coffee. The house is so well designed and comfortable. We loved sitting in the backyard by the fire pit and on the hammock. The grill is great. The beds were comfortable and the bedding great! The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed! We were 7 and fit comfortably in the house. We had everything we needed including beach chairs and towels and a wagon to get it all to the beach. We highly recommend it and can’t wait to come back!

Three Gems Cottage

Our overall experience could not have been better. The home owners answered all our questions cordially and quickly, provided us with everything we needed and worked hard to go above and beyond to insure we were comfortable.The house and grounds were clean and very accommodating. The house's closeness to Lake Michigan, especially the hot week we rented, was just what we needed. While we have not formally met the owners, we felt like we were staying at a friend's house rather then just renting. We highly recommend these owners and the house and property for others to enjoy. We certainly will endeavor to hook up with these owners and this property in the future.

The Pefect Stay

We have rented several houses in Union Pier and this is by far the best one. Everything was top notch. We love to cook at home and the kitchen has everything you need and then some. And a Weber grill! Plus a large table to dine at if you have a bigger group. Also, towels, bedding etc great quality. I have stayed at many places where that was not the case. Great fire pit area in the yard where we sat at night several times. When the owners say a quick walk to the beach they mean it. I wouuld say about 5 minutes. I never really timed it due to how close it was. The beach was great and owners provided Tommy Bahama chairs and plenty of beach towels. Communication was great as I spoke with Susan serveral times. Will definitely be back. Thanks for a great week for our family.

Three Gems Cottage is a gem

A very comfortable cottage, well decorated and stocked with everything you need in the kitchen and throughout the house. The gardens surrounding the cottage were absolutely lovely at the beginning of August. Very short walk to great beach - soft sand and lovely vistas. The only caveat in the house might be that the stairs to go to the second floor are old and very shallow so anyone that is a bit unsteady may find them a challenge. As for the beach, the public area is fine, but it is bordered on both sides by prominent signs that read "Private Beach!" I don't think I have ever seen that posting before. We were a family of four adults and one four year old child and there was enough to do in the surrounding area. If you need a day trip, St. Joseph has a wonderful carousel and lots of shops and restaurants. p.s. the bakery in Union Pier is amazing and the hosts give a lot of restaurant information in a packet in the house.

Awesome, family friendly beach getaway!

Three gems truly is a gem! The home is beautifully and comfortably decorated. There is plenty of room for our family of 6 adults and 3 small children. Lots of room in the common area - open kitchen, dining room and family room for gathering and spending time together, but the front porch and screened back porch were great to spread out and have different activities going, as well as a second TV area upstairs. We loved the fenced front and back yards, and used the fire pit in the back for bonfires and s’mores. We cooked most of our meals in, and we appreciated the big dining table and quality cookware. The home had everything we needed. The kids loved going to Izzy’s Bean and Gelato for delicious gelato, so we went several nights – it’s just a mile away. And we also enjoyed the Pumpernickel Inn, which has a great breakfast and lunch menu. The best part of the cottage is it’s close proximity to the beautiful, sandy beach, which is just a block away down a shady path. The water is clean and clear, with a sandy bottom that stays shallow for quite a way out, which was great for our young grandchildren. Some days it was completely still, with no waves, and other days we had waves to jump through and ride on boogie boards. We really enjoyed it both ways. Everyone absolutely loved our week here – we will be back!

A wonderful week at perfect beach cottage!

We had the most wonderful week at Susan and Victor's cottage. This was a family trip to meet up with other relatives in the area before a wedding. The cottage is super cute, bright and fresh and very comfortable and roomy - enough to have all the family over for dinner one evening. We didn't want for anything. The kitchen was VERY well supplied. There was plenty of space for my daughter and her husband to work remotely and still feel like they were on holiday. The wifi was perfect. We loved the porches in the front and back. There was space to squirrel yourself away to work or read or to be with the family in the main area. Loved all the flowers and the herbs in the garden too and the picture perfect arbor and picket fence. It was so warm we didn't use the firepit, but we'd love to another time. Our daughter and her husband had their own upstairs area and we had the downstairs bedroom and bathroom - so everyone had their privacy. But there would be room for our other daughter and the grandkids too. We hope we can return with them all next year as they would love it. Super easy walk to the beautiful beach. Really, everything was thought of - beach chairs, a cart to take your things to the beach, towels, and it wasn't just that they were supplied, everything was so nicely done and beachy. I think we will have some competition from other family members to rent it next year, because everyone loved it. Thanks for sharing it!

Perfect spot. Perfect location.

Perfect beach cottage. Super close to the beach and "downtown" Union Pier and very well equipped for an easy stay - everything you need in a kitchen to feed the lot plus beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas, etc for hanging out. Best part is there are sooo many windows allowing you to open up the house and take advantage of the cool SW Michigan nights after a hot day at the beach.

Location is perfect! We loved the large dining area for meals and games. The fire pit was perfect for evening s’mores! The house is comfortable and inviting. Lots of towels, beach chairs, and the perfect wagon to help cart it all to the beach.
