Nice place and I’d do it again.
This was a nice place that fit the bill perfectly for me and I’ll definitely rent it again if the opportunity came up.- No issues with check-in or out.- Temps got into the mid-90’s and the heat pump kept up with no issues. - Wifi worked great. Mobile phone service was non-existent for me.- The water pressure in the shower was fine, and the hot water was plenty hot.- Dedicated parking was really convenient.- Gas station with convenience store was a few minutes up the road.- Figure on bringing about 1 gallon of potable water per adult per day for: coffee/tea, hydration, and brushing.
It's a spcious cabin with plenty of room to spread out, and a beautiful view of Sennebec Pond in Union ME. A half hour to Camden and Rockland, and just a beautiful area. Full kitchen set up, hot showers, a nice deck and fire pit for relaxing and enjoying the view of the pond. Everything was neat, clean and well organized, and stay instructions were simple and easy to follow. The only negative, and it's a realtively small one it the grans scheme, was that the windows were't clean when we looked out on the pond from inside. Not muddy or gross, just not clean. Overall we loved it, and have book marked it to visit again in the future!

2nd stay there and it’s still a nice place.
This was my 2nd trip there and it was just as great as it was last time. If it’s available on my next trip to Maine, I’d certainly rent it again.

Sisters get away trip to Maine
Overall all, it was fine. We enjoyed exploring the area and the location of the cottage was convenient. We did so much traveling that we didn't have time to sit outside, build a fire in the firepit in the evening, or sit on the dock. The price was reasonable.

Very good base camp
This cottage across from Sennebec Pond was a great experience. The host was very helpful and very nice. We will definitely be back. The only thing I will say is it is very rustic which is my taste but might not be for everybody. I am looking forward to booking again in the future!
It was great to spend a few days at the lake! From the listing, we did not realize that we were across the street from the lake and that we would be sharing space (lucky for us, we came during the week and fortunately did not have to share!). We also had to improvise to have outdoor furniture as nothing was set up.
Would have loved to have more time to stay at the property and enjoy the lake - it was beautiful! The house itself was fine - my friend described it as a giant shed. But there needs to be pillow protectors on the pillows - it sucks when you're a non-smoker, haven't brought your own pillows from home, put your head down late at night to finally go to sleep and get the stench of cigarette smoke. I don't believe anyone had been smoking inside but I do believe smokers had rented the property before us and the smell was imbedded in the hair and transferred to the pillow. Yuck!!!

A very restful stay
We stayed at this cottage for five days in early July and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is centrally located in the state. It's a quick ride to Camden, Rockland and a two hours to Bar Harbor. The cottage sits on a very pretty clean lake and boat/canoe rentals are available in a campground ten minutes away. The cottage is fully furnished. The kitchen has everything you need. When we had a problem with the stove, the owner very quickly got in touch with the property manager who fixed the problem while we were out. The cottage is spacious and can easily host up to six people. The living room is welcoming and it's nice to sit in after a day exploring the beauty of Maine. There is a small grocery nearby and a well stocked Hannaford market not to far away. Finally, the area is very quiet and peaceful.
My wife and I were looking for a spot to serve as "base camp" for day trips to the Maine coast. The cabin meet those needs. The amenities are a bit spartan, meaning you need to bring your own food. We were a bit concerned about how to stay warm until we noticed there was a new split A/C-Heating unit installed. There were no instructions but once we fired up the heat we were able to keep the main living area comfortable. The "master" bedroom had a portable electric radiator for heat. There was no heat in the second bedroom with twin beds. The double bed was not very comfortable as you tended to get "swallowed" by the soft mattress. The cabin is located off the coast and across the street from a very lovely small lake. Sunrises were pretty spectacular with a layer of fog floating above the water. Very nice.
We enjoyed our stay, place very clean. It was a bit away from things to do but very relaxing. Fire pit was a bonus. We had starry nights and saw shooting stars. Lake is beautiful! Only suggestion I would make is to update bath towels and also put a full length mirror in one of the rooms. Overall great place to stay.
Given the relatively high cost (by the time you factor in extra owner fee, cleaning fee, etc.), we just expected something superior. Was far off into the boondocks with nothing around to explore, converted double wide trailer was unfinished, and cheaply furnished, with no drinkable water, and only source of heat a wood burning stove which we elected to forgo. We froze through the one night we stayed and left first thing the next morning. I asked for a refund for the next 2 nights but was denied. Still, I’m not sorry we lost money bc we found a hotel in Camden for the next couple nights and it was lovely (and less $!). To be fair, we should have looked more carefully at the listing. We had to scramble for a last minute substitution, and and assumed the price reflected quality. It did not in this case. Buyer beware.

Disappointed
Although the property was clean, our check in was delayed two hours because of housekeeping not finishing in time. The description of the property made it sound like a home, not a camp and that it was on the water, not across an access road with other camps in front of ours. The description did mention we were sharing a dock but the dock was only large enough for chairs so we were not able to use it due to the other camp constantly using it. The bed was only a full sized bed, the fridge didnt keep things cold, no heating system and a few nights were very chilly. Just an overall disappointing stay
We LOVED our week at this lake house. While it is definitely more of a camp than a house (walls were painted osb, windows were difficult to open/close), it was super clean and didn't lack any interior amenities. My husband loved the super firm mattress!
The lake was warm so we swam every day, often multiple times per day, and were fortunate that the rental across the street had a nice family who didn't mind sharing the dock. The neighbors who own the adjacent camps were very friendly, as well, and even offered to share some fish they'd caught!
The lake was so nice! We brought our own kayaks to explore, and hiked many of the nearby preserves that were less than a 20 minute drive. I think the only things we missed during the entire week were a fire pit and a bigger charcoal grill. Future renters should be aware that steaks, potatoes, and corn on the cob for two people had to be grilled in two batches. Plan your meals accordingly!
