The hostel is nice and centrally located. The space is calm, clean, and cute.The space was great, but the best part of Ginger Banana was the people! The staff seriously went above and beyond to help me navigate the city/find tours and make me feel welcome. They helped me feel comfortable and taken care of as a solo traveler. "Our Family Suite (two BRs) was very contemporary with a good-sized kitchen and living room. Bed had lovely linen and a multitude of pillows. Nice bathrobes, too. Our room had a private outdoor patio. Our room provided a stylish, comfortable suite where we could relax between outings - just what we wanted.
The restaurant dominated the lobby area. We had breakfast once which was cooked fresh and nicely served.

"This property is about a 25 min (fast paced) walk to the tourist areas. It feels safe, quite, more authentic, and has a beautifully run doggy daycare right next door. The staff are what made my stay here exceptional. They will go out of their way to help you, direct, and inform you, in English. It has many local tourists, rather than from other countries. The buffet breakfast is sublime and highly recommended. The bedrooms are ample. Thank-you for making my time in Oaxaca fell amazing."
