The Tropic of Cancer Monument is a fascinating sculpture that marks its namesake line of latitude wrapping around the globe. It is the crowning jewel of the Plaza Turística y Artesanal Trópico de Cáncer by the side of one of Mexico’s main highways. Stop off at this intriguing landmark and take a look around its cultural center.

Walk up the circular steps enclosing the sculpture to get a closer look. The artwork consists of a red globe containing a portrayal of the Americas raised in the air. Admire the view of the transparent globe, with the red mountains of Los Cabos serving as a picturesque backdrop. Although the plaza appears to be in a remote location, it was built to help neighboring communities trade and display the works of artists.

See the larger and more traditional blue globe near the entrance to the plaza’s building. The structure itself has an arched portal and hoists a gray dome. Browse the souvenirs and artisanal products on display in the stores. Explore the chapel for its various religious relics and colorful murals. Attend one of the full moon parties for live music and poetry readings. Bask in the bohemian vibe and haggle for arts and crafts.

Note that the work of art has replaced former sculptures that once stood here to mark the Tropic of Cancer latitude line. Access the plaza for free it is open to the public at all times. Stay for a dramatic sunset and take dramatic photos along the dusty road. Drive north to reach Cabo Pulmo and Los Barriles.

The Tropic of Cancer Monument is along the side of the highway, a little east of Santiago. It is in the district of Los Cabos, toward the southeastern tip of the Baja California Peninsula. See other nearby attractions such as the Misión de Santiago and the Cañón de la Zorra.

Barbara and the staff at Casa Bella go above and beyond to make you feel like family and at home in their Beautiful Hotel. The grounds are a Lovely Oasis in the middle of crazy Cabo. Our room was clean, decorated stunningly, our shower was Huge, and the complimentary coffee/tea and pastries was wonderful in the morning. It's close to everything. Right in the middle of town. We loved everything about it! Thank you Barbara and Staff! :)

Amenities out of this world with access to the beach club that was amazing. The balcony is gorgeous with amazing views to the marina and extremely close to the beach club. It was clean, could use new bedsheets they seemed more on the worn side but smelled extremely clean. We enjoy our stay so much and very much recommend it

My stay was ok. The rooms were nice but the balcony could use a little more maintenance. The hot tub on the balcony took a long time for the water to fill up and the sound was extremely loud. Check in was a bit challenging. I showed confirmation to the employee of the amount that I was to pay at the property which was $13.26 but instead I was charged $240MX ($13.84 USD). I really wasn't in the mood to address it due to the employee had charged my credit card then canceled after realizing the mistake she made. I gave her some grace but it doesn't take away that I was will overcharged by 58 cent. Next, I get to my room & didn't realize there were no wash clothes in the bathroom. So the next day, I asked one of the cleaning staff members for some wash clothes, however, that was challenging as well due to the language barrier. It was just alot going on but it worked out having to use my translator on my phone. As far as the drinks, those were really good but I have to pass on the food as it wasn't all that great to me. Also, when attempting to get a blue towel for me to go near the pool, the employee acted as if he didn't want to give me a towel due to the wrist band I had on which was for Alititude. I didn't have no issue the previous day getting a towel and I wasn't aware that I needed to go somewhere else to get a towel. I was very frustrated with that and still received the towel.The beach was nice, the entertainment was good and I liked the swings.

![We stayed in the Yurts at Spa Buena Vista and a short walk down the beach are these palapas which are perfect for the hot sunny days. The beach here goes on and for miles.
The area is on top of natural hot thermal springs and some spots along the waters edge are actually to hot to stand on because of the thermals. 
We also saw three different sea turtle nest marked for their safety and had the date the eggs were laid.
