I went to scuba dive and after arriving I found that the dive shop was open but that they don’t offer diving. Our room was lovely, clean and spacious, beautiful views. Unfortunately the water was turned off for large chunks of the day and the toilet didn't refill, had to use a bucket of water to flush. It wasn't too much of a problem but the communication about it could be better. The staff were friendly and kind, couldn't fault their enthusiasm, but a little disorganised when it came to excursions, we asked to go to Cloud 9 but spent two hours waiting past the time they said to be ready while they organised the trip, as a consequence we missed out on time there and wasted a proportion of our day. Buffet food and breakfast was disappointing but the a la carte and concession restaurants were good. We enjoyed the teppenyaki and the sunset meal. The turtles were a suprise and a treat, we enjoyed learning about their conservation efforts. Amenities were good. Maybe our favourite place of our honeymoon! Keep in mind it’s a very small island and this is not going to be your typical 4-5 star accommodation like you’d find on bigger islands or pricey spots. However, the energy and feeling of treasure island is unmatched. The staff became our best friends and showed us so much love. The beach, hammocks, crystal water, kayaks, sandbanks, quiet, snorkelling, staff, and beauty of Fiji were what made us fall in love. We stayed 7 nights and by the 5/6 night we were getting ready to move on because of the firmer bed and similar food menu daily which was decent but not amazing. But we are pretty easy going and like I said, if you enjoy the beach and snorkelling and just a beautiful beachy laid back quiet spot, this is it. They often have small children and families and school groups as we learned. Our first 3 nights were a dream because it was super quiet. We loved the atmosphere, the staff and the peace and quiet. Its a beautiful place with wonderful people who become more like family than just staff running the resort. Some recommendations: If you want to go off-island or book in for the spa you need to make sure you book in advance. It is Fiji Time on Nakelo Treasure Island, so accept this and you'll have a fantastic experience. If you have high expectations for your accomodation (needs some updating) or service 'right this minute' then this is not for you, but the shower was always hot, the room was always cool and the view from our room was to die for. Unfortunately, that's where it stops. Food is terrible (although the chef & menu changed on the last 2 days and it improved dramatically), continental breakfast is a joke, wifi non existent, over-priced menu and bar, pool is sea water, tap water undrinkable, resort is really run down, rooms require maintenance, kitchen continually ran out of food, no shop or ability to buy snacks. No ability to island hop either as its the last island on the run - you can go to another island, but then can't get back....unless I completely missed how to do it! I think Henry does the best he can with what he has at his disposal and the staff are all friendly, but it's just not up to par for the coin they are taking. Treasure Island has amazing views and snorkelling opportunities. The turtle rehab on the island is also cool. If you’ve come to relax and unplug this is the place. We enjoyed our stay. Being planners, wifi was advertised (I had a bit of work to do) but it was not available. But if you are happy purchasing data then that works just fine. We also came here specifically for the FUN DivING advertised on the website, hotels.com and Instagram, only to be informed there is no longer diving available at the resort. There is no real introduction to the resort and where things are located, but it is small, so easy to figure out. If you are coming for tennis, we never located the rackets and the courts were run down. The rooms are a little dated but honestly all you need, plus they are perfectly located on the beach. The AC in our room was leaking and made sounds that woke us up the first two nights so we decided to sleep without it. Some small repairs would really improve the quality of the room. Final downside were the prices of food. The minimum cost of a dish was $50NZD, but the quality was not consistent and overpriced for what it was. A beautiful island with lots to do, especially for the kids. Our 7 year old loved everything the island had to offer. The staff were absolutely amazing and helpful with everything. Food was a little on the pricey side but considering what it takes for it get to the island and their running costs for a remote island as such, it is understandable. It was very much the family vibe we were after and I’m glad we chose Treasure Island. Treasure Island was a real treat for us on our trip to Fiji. The staff and really friendly and inviting, also helpful and really chill to talk to, you can tell that they have a passion for what they do. The rooms are nice and spacious. I do think that the toilet room and the shower in the room could have been cleaned a bit better, but wasn't too bad. I also wish that when we went kayaking, the staff would help us to carry the kayaks to the ocean, they are placed quite far up on the beach and 2 not so strong girls trying to haul heavy kayaks down the beach wasn't the best since the guy watching the store was just sitting in his chair talking to another staff member. Remember you are holidaying somewhere in the south pacific, on a remote island.. sure the facilities are not t star, but the value for money overall with the acivites and location make this an excellent option. The staff are so friendly and helpful, and the pool and dining areas are more than you need. We had a terrific stay at this island for 9 nights participating in all daily activities. The food is far better than previous reviews, and the reefs around the island are magical for snorkling. A great value for money experience, but the only negative is no wifi in rooms, which i guess promotes you to spend time at the reception, pool, bar and restaurants area to get online. The accommodations were quite nice and comfortable, with air conditioning for a restful sleep. The food option and menu was good, not remarkable. It lacked a little variety after 4 days, but not nearly as poor as the other reviews have stated. We (family of 4) were there first week of April and it was as if we had the island to ourselves, being 1 of 4 groups on the island. I would highly recommend these dates. The snorkeling gear was a little beat up, but we had a remarkable time with unbelievable colors, fish and multiple locations during the "fish feeding" daily excursion. We will certainly return to this island.
