A Beautiful Week
The cottage is tucked away in beautiful forest with a lovely view of the lake, yet still an easy drive to Traverse City attractions and a grocery store not far away. It was perfectly clean, cozy, and well equipped, with canoe and kayak options to get on the water. We had three couples in our group and found plenty of space and privacy for a relaxing week. Sally was very responsive to help us feel comfortable. A nice bonus was some of the best bass fishing any of us have experienced.

Wonderful, relaxing and beautiful location!
My family & I (7 of us ranging in age from 6 to 65+ years) spent a week at Chandler Lake Landing. The cottage was very clean, the beds are very comfortable and the view of the lake is so beautiful and relaxing! The canoe, kayaks and rowboat all were frequently used to great enjoyment as was the pontoon boat. The weather was fantastic and the cottage is close to Traverse City, Sleeping Bear, etc. for easy day trips. We definitely will keep Chandler Lake Landing as a place to revisit!

Great stay at Chandler Lake!
We had a wonderful stay at Chandler Lake with our two little boys, who enjoyed the walk-in access to the sandy lake where they were able to wade and splash. The property is quiet and private on a beautiful little lake. While we didn't spend much time in the house, it was perfect for what we needed and Sandy was very helpful in addressing a few things during our stay. We would easily come back again!

Blissful summer stay at Chandler Lake
After four long years apart, we wanted a perfect cottage location for adults ranging in age from 50 something to 70 something, and for two almost teenagers. Chandler Lake Landing hit the mark and then some! Clean, well-kept, spacious living, with incredible outdoor spaces, a dock, kayaks, a canoe, and rowboat--we could have stayed a month, happily. The place is clearly tended with love, and we appreciated the personal greetings and touches.

It Was Like Staying "On Golden Pond"

Wonderful cottage on a great lake!
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and plan on booking again for next year. The house is the only one on the lake with completely flat access to the lake, no steps, etc. We rented the pontoon boat and had a great time fishing - lots of blue gill and largemouth bass. There are also kayaks, a row boat and a canoe with oars and life jackets. The Tiki Hut has a small refrigerator in it which came in handy for beer & bait! This is a cottage so understand the size before you book. The master bedroom and master bath are a fairly good size and the bunk room is also good. However, the other guest room and bath are very small (think RV-size) so just understand this before you book. They say you can put 8 in there and technically you can (with 2 on a sofa bed in the sitting room) but I think it would be tight. I would say maybe 2 adults and four kids would be a good mix. The property manager, Sally, was awesome and answered all of our questions quickly. The location to Traverse City is perfect and yet you are really out in the woods. There are other houses around but you feel like you have a great deal of privacy. I would highly recommend this house!

The second quest bedroom is on the smaller size - I'll agree with you on that. But it doest have a queen-size bed with nightstands on both sides and a closet and dresser. Since you can walk around both sides of the bed, I would have to say it's definitely better than being in an RV lol! The private location of the Landing is definitely a plus for our guests. As you stated, it feels like you have your own little slice of heaven there! We look forward to seeing you again in 2023! Take care, Sally

Lakeside Paradise
The cottage is so charming, the lake so clear and beautiful. So relaxing, forget the rest of the world. The sounds of the frogs and crickets at night are sweet lullaby's. The fire pit with s'mores and the family are perfect. This is a place you can come back to year after year!!!

Wonderful Family Getaway
We wanted a vacation back where I grew up and to introduce two of our grandkids to northern MI. We had a wonderful week exploring the area and playing on the lake. The kids loved paddling out to the sandbar and playing, we all loved sitting around the fire pit making s’mores. The Tiki bar was a bonus the kids loved. Maybe one of the best surprises was that Chandler Lake Landing is tucked in the woods and still right on the lake…we felt like we had our own little oasis.

Beautiful cabin on an almost private lake
My family and I very much enjoyed staying here. My husband and I spent 6 nights in the cabin with our 2 yo and 6 yo boys. The cabin's position on the lake makes it feel almost private even though there are homes on either side. The cabin was more spacious than we expected after reading other reviews and the kitchen was very well stocked with equipment. We rented the pontoon boat which was a perfect addition for a family that loves fishing, and spent a few afternoons riding out to the sand bar in the middle of the lake. Sally was very kind and attentive and answered questions very promptly. It strikes a nice balance between cabin and house and though it's still rustic and woodsy, it's also very clean with lots of modern comfort. A very lovely vacation home!

The best of both worlds!
What can we say? Chandler Lake Landing exceeded our expectations. Starting with Sally as the most hospitable host, the cozy home, serene surroundings, fantastic amenites set our two families up for a perfect summer getaway. The remote and tranquil location was just a 15 minute drive to the happenings in downtown TC, striking the perfect balance of chilling out and getting out and about. Our group had four adults and two kids ages 8 and 11, and the layout and size of the house worked out great for everyone. It was pristine, clean, and incredibly well stocked. We all enjoyed tiki bar, fire pit, kayaks, pontoon boat, and caught lots of fish. We all enthusiastically give 5 stars and can't wait to return!

Our Stay
Everything on the listing was correct. It was a very peaceful weekend and great for anyone who wants to chill and relax. One thing we weren't expecting was the amount of spiders/other bugs inside and around the cottage. It makes sense because the home is nestled in a wooded area, but we didn't realize just how dense the woods were. We didn't feel that the added cleaning responsibilities checking out matched the amount we paid in cleaning fees. If you are looking for a quiet, secluded and peaceful lake setting, this is your spot. The lake is on the smaller side and not very lively--so again perfect for a relaxing weekend. We found ourselves driving into town a lot for something to do, so it was great that it was only a 15-20 minute drive to Traverse City. Overall it was a good experience.

Thank you for your review, Bonnie. I'm happy to hear that overall you had a good experience. Chandler Lake Landing is nestled in the woods at the east end of the lake, with 15 acres of State land on one side. It is a beautiful setting, but as you said, being on the lake and surrounded by woods does lend itself to having wildlife and bugs around. We've never had a complaint about bugs inside the cottage, although we do occasionally see a few ants or daddy-log-leg spiders. I suppose it's just something that most people expect and are okay with. As far as what is requested for you to do prior to departure, removing the sheets from the beds (leaving them sitting on the mattress) and starting a load of towels in the washer is pretty standard practice across rentals on VRBO and Airbnb. I'm sorry that you felt like this was asking a lot. We have very high cleaning standards to ensure safe and comfortable stays for all of our guests. We ask our departing guests to do these things to enable our cleaning professionals to do a deep and thorough cleaning prior to other guests arriving. I'm glad that the location of Chandler Lake Landing was convenient for everything your family wanted to do around Traverse City. I hope that you enjoy the rest of your summer! Take care, Sally

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chandler Lake Landing. The cottage was just the right size, very well equipped, and had a beautiful view of the lake. If it had been warmer, we would have tried all the water equipment - hopefully we can come back in the summer for a longer stay. Sally was delightful to work with and prompt in responding to our questions.

Quiet and picturesque
This was an ideal property for our visit to Northwestern Michigan. The location is secluded, wooded, quiet and serene yet a short drive to all that Traverse City has to offer. We enjoyed paddling around the lake in the kayaks and canoe and it would be hard to beat watching the sun set over the lake from the Adirondack chairs around the fire pit on the beach. It was so pleasant that we wound up cooking meals on the gas grill many nights instead of going out to eat. Communication with the property manager was excellent. Directions to the property were spot on but I would suggest printing them out so you can refer to the pictures. The Traverse City Airport was a quick 8 minute drive making the location super convenient for air travelers.

Rustic home on small, charming lake
The property is located on a small, charming lake in a very wooded area about 20-25 minutes from downtown Traverse City. Property manager was very easy to contact and quick to respond. Home had a very rustic interior. Beds were comfortable and home was supplied with all essentials for cooking family meals.

Peaceful stay on Chandler Lake
Lovely cozy property on Chandler Lake. We enjoyed the pontoon boat, swimming across the lake to the sandbar, fishing, kayaking and paddle boating. We also enjoyed exploring the area (fishing in Lake Michigan and spending time on Torch Lake with friends. We hope to come back again.

Awesome Lakefront Property on a Quiet Lake
Four of us had a wonderful time at the Chandler Lake property. Ideal waterfront setting (I think the best on the entire lake). Rented their pontoon boat and had lots of cruising fun. Fully stocked kitchen. Quaint older house with lots of windows. BBQ with lots of outdoor tables, chairs and fire pit. Sally our site manager was very responsive to all our needs. Would come back in a heartbeat!

Great Northern Michigan Getaway
Wonderful time away with the family on Chandler Lake. The house and lake was perfect for our family with two 6-year olds. The kids loved taking the boat out to the sand bar and searching for shells. My wife and I were big fans of the Tiki Bar and fire pit at night. Our host was wonderful and very responsive. Would definitely stay here again!

Much needed Getaway
We had a wonderful vacation on Chandler Lake. We caught a lot of fish and did a lot of relaxing. Enjoyed all of the wildlife we saw also. This place has it all and everything needed to create a lifetime of memories. We hope to stay again sometime soon!!!

Private Lake!
We wanted a place on the water and Chandler Lake Landing was exactly that. The changing colors of the trees reflected in the water were so beautiful we just kept taking pictures! The house was spotless and very well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. There are several homes scattered around the lake but they are not anywhere near you so you have the impression that this is your private lake. We had a lovely time and would love to return. Sally was a pleasure to deal with, answering any questions immediately. A+

I send each guest specific directions - including pictures - because the cottage is on a private lane and GPS/map systems will not get you there. Lake Living at its Best!
If you want a serene, secluded, and quaint getaway this is your location. Conveniently located and tucked away you're still only a 20 min drive into town. This cabin is the most well-stocked rental I have ever stayed in (waffle maker, blender, plenty of dishes, pots, pans, etc)! You just need to bring your food and paper goods (extra paper towel and toilet paper). They even provide bug spray. No need to leave once you arrive unless you want to! We loved hanging out in the Tiki hut and around the fire pit. We especially enjoyed the paddle boat and canoes. If you enjoy fishing, you have that option too. We also had an outdoor movie night (brought our own screen and projector); there is plenty of backyard space and lots of seating options (swing, large outdoor dining space and deck off the Tiki Hut). There is a great park with Tennis/PickleBall, basketball, etc. about 5 min drive that we also found convenient. Since this is a relatively small lake, it was genuinely quiet with just enough activity where you don't feel totally isolated. The property manager was very responsive to all needs and requests and promptly responded. The bedroom with the queen size bed is quite tiny, but is fine to sleep. Would definitely return!

Perfect Up North Getaway
This is a perfect location for all things Up North in Michigan. My wife and two young kids stayed the week of Labor Day and had a fantastic time. The weather for this particular week was horrible (lots of rain and unseasonably cold...even for Michigan) but the vacation was still great. The house is extremely well maintained and has everything you need to get out and enjoy the outdoors or hunker down on rainy days. The property is perfect for kids. our 4 and 2 year old loved to explore the woods, climb the playset, and play restaurant in the Tiki Bar. Chandler Lake is perfect size for kayaking or pontoon rides and the fish aren't shy about biting. The location is great too. The property is secluded but still close enough to everything you need. There's a great pizza and burger restaurant about 5 minutes away, grocery is about 10 minutes away at Oelson's, downtown Traverse City is 15-20 minutes, and Sleeping Bear Dunes is an hour. Every interaction with Sally, the property manager, was fantastic. She was happy to answer all of our questions ahead of time, met us at the property when we arrived, provided great recommendations for the area, and was very accessible the entire week. We checked out this morning and everyone already can't wait to come back next year!

Fantastic Property
Our group of 7 had a blast at this beautiful, tranquil property! Can not recommend the space for a getaway in the traverse city area enough. The property manager Sally was very professional, helpful, and communicate as well. The additional boats, swimming dock, and grill etc really made the trip, and nights sitting by the campfire along the water were a true treat! The living space of the cabin is much larger than in the pictures and not once did our group feel cramped at all

Lake Oasis
We stayed here with our family of 5 - kids are age 11, 9, and 4. We had an amazing time. The pictures do not do this place justice. The house is lovely, and more spacious than it looks on the posting. The house was so clean upon our arrival and Sally was super easy to work with and was very responsive. The lake is beautiful and quiet - this vacation was exactly what we needed. Great location - offering a quiet place away from it all, but close to main attractions.

Lovely, relaxing retreat
This cottage was perfect for our weeklong stay with four adults and two kids. The availability of kayaks, a canoe, a rowboat and a paddle boat made for lots of fun times on the lake. The backyard, complete with Tiki bar and fire pit, also was a great area for playing lawn games. The boys also loved kicking a soccer ball around out front on the asphalt. The living room and dining area were very comfortable and functional, and the kitchen was exceptionally well equipped,. We cooked and baked almost every day, and also grilled out a few times. The master suite was roomy and comfortable and the bunk room worked great for the boys. The 3rd bedroom is quite small, with an adjacent bathroom that is also small, so we ended up sharing the master bathroom at times, which worked out fine. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at this clean, private cottage, and appreciate all the little touches and conveniences provided by the owners to assure an exceptional stay for guests!

Serenity
We are a family of 5, children ages 11, 14 and 16. We had a great time just hanging out on the lake, kayaking, fishing, cooking on the BBQ and enjoying nature and relaxing. There was plenty of room for the 5 of us. The property is even nicer than the photos. Would highly recommenced.

Beautiful and peaceful
Our family of 8 spent a week at Lake Chandler Landing and had a wonderful time! The living space within in the house was great and well equipped. Sleeping space for 8 was tight, but it worked out well. We spent a lot of our time outside enjoying the beautiful lake, fishing, kayaking, and going to the sand bar. The kids loved the Tiki Hut which was another great space to hang out. We took many day trips driving up and exploring the peninsulas, hiking, Sleeping Bear Dunes, blueberry picking, and much more. Sally, the property manager, was so kind and very responsive. We had a wonderful stay!
