Great Location Nice Staff

Pros: Well Run
Cons: The in room coffee makers
Location: Great location. easy to find your way back. close to downtown and less than an hour away from Sleeping Bear Dunes and Fish Town in Leland.
Check in was quick and friendly. The room was as advertised. When we encountered any of the staff in the elevator or halls they all had a cheerful greeting.

The hotel room was large and airy, bed and pillows comfortable. Room was clean and pleasant.

Close to the beach

Opening the door to the beach was the best part hearing the crashing waves ...this hotel is clean and looks amazing from the outside but needs painting on the inside The beds are very uncomfortable and pillows Did not use the pool or jacuzzi Breakfast buffet was closing when we got down there but seemed typical continental breakfast

Thank you for your stay! I'm glad you loved those waves crashing on the beach. It's wonderful! I'm sorry that you felt the beds and pillows in your room were uncomfortable. We try to offer pillows and mattresses everyone will enjoy, but we also know everyone's needs are different. We generally get really great responses on the mattresses and pillows (sold over 20 pillows this week along to guest who wanted them for home), but I'm really sorry that they just didn't work for you. We are also planning renovations this winter to freshen up wall and floor coverings for our on-water rooms in our main building. All of our luxury suites and non bay view rooms have been remodeled. Dissapointing

Pros: Hotel staff were helpful and accommodating. Right on the beach. Good location.
Cons: Room updates. More elevators. Bigger dining area with more breakfast choices and better quality food.
Location: Downtown Traverse City. Grand Traverse Hotel with three golf courses and a spa. Local wineries and excellent restaurants
The hotel is in a good location and right on the beach. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. However, the rooms and facilities are in need of updating. The suite was a very awkward layout, with the Jacuzzi taking up a good part of the space. Breakfast choices were very minimal and the dining area is very small. Biggest complaint by far is the that there is only one elevator on one side the hotel. There were occasions where we had to wait up to five minutes. The hotel cleaning staff also uses the one elevator, further compounding the problem, as the carts took up a large amount of space.

Good day! Thank you for your review and stay! I'm glad you enjoyed our curteous staff and many of our amenities. I'm sorry that the room type you had wasn't to your liking. We do have 24 other rooms types that may work better for you. In regarda to our elevator, we do have one servicing our main building and another servicing our luxury suites and studios in our second building. Kind staff, beautiful views, cozy room

The staff here is so kind and accommodating. The hotel rooms are comfortable and cozy. Breathtaking views of the bay! Gorgeous sandy beach with chairs, a playplace for kids and a bonfire pit. 24 hour coffee bar with regular, decaf and flavored coffee: yum! Nice continental breakfast! Board games, video games and movies to borrow! This is a great place for families! I cannot say anything bad about this hotel! It's the best!!

Room was weathered. Torn carpet, poorly repaired bathroom, noisy fan. Not worth the money. Beach view was obstructed with huge wooden boat playscape. Grounds were poor. Would not recommend.

The items you experienced aren't normal and will be addressed promptly by our maintenance team. In regards to the wood playscape, we do have some rooms that are conveniently located near it for families to enjoy. I'm really sorry that it didn't work for you, and we're happy to note your profile for the future to help keep you away from those room types that are near that structure. And I do apologize that our back lawn area was a bit torn up as we replaced all of our shrubs on the bayside to open up the views of the bay better. It is all repaired now and looking great. I hate to do that type of stuff with guests around, but we never close the hotel and chose the slowest period we could to get the work done. I'm very sorry this was a temporary eye sore. I would like to discuss with you more and find out how I can help make you have a better view of our hotel. We certainly don't like to let our guests leave unhappy. Great hotel on the beach

The hotel is very convenient and our room faced the bay with a nice balcony so we could see the sun set over the bay. The breakfast was excellent with a great variety including wonderful waffles with a delicious cherry sauce To put on them if you so desired. Staff was very friendly and helpful both at check in and check out. We would definitely stay there again.
