We encourage guests to purchase travel insurance because we cannot operate outside of our cancellation policy for any reason. \- Due to our close proximity to the National Park, we have a large population of insects, including ladybugs, house flies, stink bugs, millipedes, carpenter bees, and wasps. Although all of our properties are sprayed regularly by a professional pest control company, the city and park areas are not. During various times of the year, these insects may find their way into the property. By booking, you understand that is a possibility during your stay and understand that there will be no refunds related to bugs getting into the property. We will be happy to work with you to get pest control back out if necessary. \- A temporary hold of $2 will be placed on your credit card as part of our verification process and will be released within 7 days. Modern conceninces were great (having WiFi was great for planning and looking up local places). The host was very responsive whenever we communicated. Excellent location for day hikes in the Smokies. Townsend is a very charming town. It would have been nice to have the patio string lights working (though the host did offer to send someone to check them out) but it didn't truly detract from our stay. The cabin is located in the woods on a small partially paved road. Since I live in a city, I loved being secluded for a change. We were in Tennessee visiting my mom who lives closer to Knoxville and we wanted a place in between her house and Pigeon Forge. This cabin was perfect. We were about 40-50 mins from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Plus we were really close to the entrance to the Smokey Mountains. This location in Townsend, the “Peaceful Side” of the GSMNP, was perfect. The cabin is 3/4 mile off the main road so it is close to everything, but peaceful and quiet.
