![Dating to the 1790's this was the home of Major Pierce Butler, an Officer of the American Revolution and one of the men who drafted the US Constitution. It was a thriving rice plantation until the end of the Civil War. .  The house that is visible behind the rice mill chimney was built in 1927 by Colonel TL Huston. He was Half owner of the NY Yankees and hosted many professional ball players here, including Babe Ruth. « This small hotel so close to the beach and everything else near the village, was such a different vibe from the usual. I love the Mediterranean style, the rooftop bar and restaurant, the staff were great! Just a couple suggestions, the room I was in needs a full length mirror and/or a bigger mirror in the bathroom. It was hard to see how your outfit looked before heading out the door. Other than that I had everything I needed! »

« The apartment was as pictured, nicely decorated and fit our needs. That said, cleanliness is the most important feature we look for, and this property fell short of our standards. There was a used wash rag in the shower, hair left behind and the floors were not clean. The exterior of the property is not well kept but we only needed a place to sleep so that was not a big deal. This place has potential, but needs a little more attention to detail on cleaning. »
