I stayed at the Regina in a Madrid for a couple days and was very impressed. The location is super central and, while it's a smaller property, the amenities were top of class. In particular, the gym was one of the best I have seen for a hotel, especially one of this size. This will be high on my list of hotels to stay at in Madrid moving forward.

Location is the biggest highlight. Only 200m from the very center Sol but not right next to the plaza. It’s convenient to go places but not noisy at all. One thing to note is: due to traffic rules, taxi or uber can’t go in front of the hotel. But if the hotel calls the car, they can get in. The hotel is a music hall and so is the theme. They even have a vinyl library for you to borrow records and turntable to play in your room. And it opens late. Inside the room it’s simple. No fancy decor, just the basics. But staffs are very helpful. There’s a safe in the room too. We’ve been told not to bring passports with us but keep a copy or photo on phone. They are right. Even the store tax free application accepts photo. We also like the rooftop swimming pool. It’s not big but the deepest is 1.65m. You can’t do laps but a nice dip in the water during summer time feels really good. Too bad the pool only opens till 8pm. We didn’t include breakfast during our stay. There are so many choices in the neighborhood. Oh, did I mention there is a restaurant with a piano bar? We didn’t have a chance to try it so not sure about the food. But it’s definitely not crowded if you’re lazy to go out. The env looks cozy. Overall, we love this hotel and don’t mind to come back again.
