We (family of 4, children aged 14 and 11) stayed for 2 nights. We arrived late at night and the drive up to the hotel was certainly an experience, but was definitely worth it when we saw the view in the morning. The setting in the mountains is spectacular, and we loved spending time in and around the pool, taking in the view. The restaurant is good with a varied menu, although perhaps there could have been a few more options for breakfast. Expedia allowed us to book a room which was not available, so we did not get the tower room as we had hoped. However the hotel were apologetic and did their best to mitigate this, offering us a second room so that our family of 4 had plenty of space. We would recommend Hotel Cerro de Hijar for a spectacular location to get away from it all!

We booked a suite with a view but the only view it had was of the car park.changed to smaller room and they charged the same price. The service was poor I think not enough staff for the number of guests. The noise from people drinking outside until 3am kept us awake there seemed to be a party going on .it felt totally unsafe during COVID 19 and I would not recommend

amazing place!
The places is situated in an amazing setting. Very relaxing and picturesque. The people working there were very relaxed and accommodating. We had a dog with us and they didn’t mind him at all. We will definitely come back.

A Mountain hotel
We stayed at this hotel to attend a wedding that was conducted there, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the views were stunning with a commanding view over the entire area. Our visit was in early February when the temperatures are very low it was between 2 to 5° when we were there. The hotel sits above the town of Tolox, the road to the hotel is a series of twisty bands climbing 290 m over 3.5 km. The food at the hotel was of good quality but rather pricey for the portion size, we soon discovered we could eat in Tolox, in the bars and restaurants where the food was equally as good but much cheaper and full of local atmosphere.

I was very disappointed because we booked a room with a double bed and they ony had twin beds when we arrived. They said they could never guarentee a double bed even though hotels.com had booked it. We also had a bad experience eating at their resturant. The service was extremely slow. It took half an hour to get a menu to only find out that they had a poor selection of vegetarian food. It then took nearly an hour to get served. The food tasted very nice but was very expensive. Would not eat there again. Otherwise the location was high up on a mountain side with fantastic views. The gardens were lovely and the swimming pool warm.

Fantastic hotel, away from it all!
This is a fantastic hotel, beyond Tolox up in the mountains and away from it all. The place is very relaxing and well kept and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant is superb with fantastic dinners and buffet breakfasts. Several guests who all lived locally and knew the hotel well asked how we'd come to hear of the place and we agreed that it is a word of mouth secret sort of place. Well worth spending some days here!

Not nice
The road leading to this is narrow and curvy so be prepared. The buffet breakfast we thought was overpriced for what it was; we usually don't have breakfast in hotels for this reason but since this place is far from anywhere else we didn't have much choice. We had dinner which again was overpriced for what it was (the gazpacho was particularly not pleasant), the staff was ok, but not the most friendly. The hotel is quite tired and even though we had the Junior Suite the room was not very nice at all, and the TV (in case you want to watch it) is very small. We would not stay here again and don't recommend it to others.

I stayed here for a night recently. The hotel is literally at the top of a mountain, you would want to arrive early in the afternoon to enjoy the drive and views when you arrive. Extremely quiet - if you've had a busy week at work and want to relax, you really couldn't do any better, silence and tranquility. Superb for a romantic getaway, amazing views, near silence throughout the day so perhaps good for writers. Definitely would stay again.

Beautiful location, with amazing views. We arrived late at night and had previously informed the hotel that we would not require dinner - however we were unable to eat on the way and when we arrived, asked if they could make us something. Ten minutes later, we had two huge bowls of hot fresh soup, cheese and ham toasties, chips and 2 beers! Very welcome after our journey - what a service to produce this in such a short time! Excellent! Next morning, we had a fantastic breakfast but unfortunately had an appointment so had to leave early. We intend to return soon for a longer stay, when we hope to make ful use of the lovely pool & spa area..

highly recommended
Even though we arrived in March, ie before the season, the weather was good for walking. The hotel had fireplace lit at all times in sitting and dining rooms , it felt great after a long walk in the mountains. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Very good cuisine and generous breakfasts. Hotel has fast wifi, not always the case in Spain. It was very relaxing to stay there, must be fabulous in the summer with the pool and the garden available

Mooi hotel op een fantastische plek midden in de Sierra de las Nieves. Ligging/uitzicht is magnifieke. Ideaal voor mensen, die van rust, wandelen en stilte houden, mar voor gezin met (drukke) kinderen zouden we het niet aanraden. Het leek bijna op een retraite centrum en ook voor ons dus niet het ideale hotel. Diner en ontbijt vallen ontzettend tegen. Diner is erg pretentieus (ook qua prijs !) maar is erg onder de maat. Ontbijt is heel erg simpel.

Wunderbarer Ort zum Ausspannen und Wandern
Es war fantastisch, Aussicht, geschmacksvolle Einrichtung, wir fühlten uns sofort zu Hause. Draussen ein Pool und Liegegelegenheiten mit wunderbarer Aussicht. Exquisites Essen im Restaurant. Alles 1A. Schade fanden wir, dass die Betreuung durch die Angestellten etwas gar "professionel" war, uns fehlte die Herzlichkeit ein wenig.

Hotel en entorno bonito y tranquilo, limpio, habitaciones grandes, buen desayuno, muy buen restaurante. Buena piscina también. No me ha gustado que tenga bañera y cortina. Por último, sé que no es responsabilidad del hotel, pero que lo lean los padres: los niños aquí molestan especialmente. No es un sitio preparado para ellos, solo tienen la piscina y ahí se concentran y casi la "secuestran".

Lille oase på bjergfremspring, fantastisk udsigt
Et stort værelse til en rimelig pris, alt fungerede omend inventaret bar præg af noget slid. Fantastisk udsigt fra denne afsides beliggenhed, som er et godt udgangspunkt for vandreture videre op i bjergområdet. Vejen derop er meget smal og snoet, som er en fordel at køre i dagslys, man bliver så belønnet med den flotteste udsigt over Tolox og Sierra de las Nieves området. Når mørket er faldet på er der en særlig stemning med lysene flimrende i nattevarmen, akkompagneret af cikadernes musik, og det hele kan nydes fra svømmebassinet forrest på den lille bjergtop, som er åben døgnet rundt. Begrænset udvalg af morgenmad, men OK til prisen. Velegnet for par, mindre egnet til børnefamilier. Restauranten har et godt udvalg af egnstypisk mad, men tenderer til at ligge i den dyre ende af skalaen.

Mooi hotel in de bergen
Het hotel ligt net buiten Tolox op een hele rustige locatie in de bergen. Je hebt een schitterend uitzicht, ook vanaf het zwembad. De kamers zijn alleen niet heel groot en enorm gehorig. Wij hadden een kamer op de benedenverdieping, waar ook de keuken is. Niet alleen de kamer, maar ook al onze spullen stonken naar houtskool.
