I travel to Japan about 3-4 times a year, and have been for over 20 years. I have stayed at some very nice, large, expensive hotels in Tokyo, but when my business started bringing me to Hachioji, I began booking the more traditional "business hotel" rooms. I have regularly stayed in another hotel very close to the R&B and when it was booked, I decided to give the R&B a shot. The business room was actually slightly less expensive than the hotel that I normally stayed in, and the location was a stone's throw away so I knew the area well. The room was incredibly clean and the staff were nice. I will say that they did not speak very much English, something that I was not expecting thanks to the English skills of the hotel I normally frequented, but that didn't prove to be much of a problem. The bed was very firm, I was worried at first that I wouldn't sleep well, but that also didn't turn out to be much of a problem. The wireless internet was fast, and reliable, and the hotel had a free continental breakfast which was a nice surprise. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the R&B and will probably look to this hotel first on my next trip thanks to the breakfast and the slightly lower cost. For those new to the area, you are walking distance to the main train station as well as two malls with a lot of good restaurants.
