From Minami-Senju station, you can walk around 10 minutes or take a bus that goes right in front of the building. The subway pass or Toei pass can be of good value for this location, depending on your other plans. Grocery stores close by (within a minute) to get any snacks and drinks you may need. Staff was friendly, and check-in and check-out were easy. My room had a TV and AC unit, which was very nice for the cold winter night. TV is always nice to watch while winding down for the night or getting ready in the morning. Had no problem using the shared shower and toilets. They were not busy when I needed to use them. What a great first impression of Japanese hospitality. Juyoh is located in Taito City, which is a charming and quieter area north of Ginza. The room is modestly sized with a tatami style sleeping mat and cushion, which is quite comfortable for people who are minimalists, a sleeping style called "shikibuton." There is no TV. Only a floor desk. The bathroom is shared but is very clean. There are showers and toilets on 2 different levels. The toilet seats are heated, which are incredible for the Tokyo winters. The water is hot but you must be considerate of other guests. There are konbini stores and great little vending machines close by. If you are a coffee drinker, my favorite hot coffee vending machines is a 3 minute walk away from the hotel. I have not found a similar machine in Tokyo. Overall, Juyoh is a great little hotel if you want to visit Tokyo on a budget. For transportation, you have numerous options from the metro to bikes. Or you can walk to truly explore Tokyo. Also, the bus stop is directly outside, super easy and it takes you all the way to ueno.
